Super 8 by Wyndham Hagerstown/Halfway Area

The desk clerk was very nice and helpful. We stayed in room 121 and it was warm, and musty. We cranked the air conditioner down to 60 degrees and the smell got better but I think the carpet was the culprit and it was very pleasant. Shower was good, hot water.

The beds and pillows were very comfortable and clean. Parking was good. Location was good and surrounded by places to eat. The curtains could not keep out the light from the parking area. Also I never was able to get the water hotter than tepid for a shower.

Serve a decent breakfast. Not much for amenities otherwise, no Restaurant or gym. A good place just to sleep.

Parking lot was overgrown. Facility looked poorly maintained and unclean. Sketchy individuals in parking lot. No one in the reception for five minutes. Very dated looking area. I felt uncomfortable enough that I left, abandoning my prepayment, found a place to stay elsewhere. This place needs serious work.

Not sure where all the positive reviews come from. This is not a hotel; it’s just a sad roadside motel. The price for the property is outrageous - about $100. The chemical fragrance of the cleaning products was overpowering. There was a roach in the shower. There was dust encrusted in the AC vents. I moved rooms in the hopes of getting a room that was less overpowering - the second room was dingier, with blankets that were so worn it looked like they came from the 70s. The carpet felt damp. The AC rattled. The toilet wouldn’t flush. The cable had only a couple of channels - the majority were offline - and the WiFi has no password so it’s not exactly an amenity or safe. The woman at the front desk was lovely but that’s about it.

Brakfast I found ants in my room.

Location Didn’t had an elevator to go to upstairs room. Staff was not courteous. Breakfast was just minimal.

The room was super clean, really impressed! Staff was very nice and the breakfast, usually I don’t eat breakfast at the hotels, but this was so good. We ate it both days.
