Hyatt House Herndon/Reston

The room was very good, comfortable bed, pillow, clean! Buffet was about 5/10. Eggs had the texture of the "instant eggs" not fresh eggs, fruit was not fresh, coffee was good though. We didn't use the kitchen portion of the room. I booked this hotel via Hotels.com with the price guarantee. Hyatt canx'd the first booking. Hotels.com contacted me promising an equal or better room at the same price. They contacted Hyatt to see if they would accept. They did again, same price per Hotels.com. Arrived at Hotel, checked in by simply showing driver's license and CC used to book with Hotels.com. They scanned my Hyatt rewards QR, gave me key cards. At checkout, I returned the key cards, they said have a nice day and left. No receipt, no mention of double charge, etc. The Hyatt Home Herndon/Reston charged me also plus my Hotels.com charge. Plus Hyatt charged me $47 higher rate and when I contacted Hotels.com they said Hyatt refused to refund saying I personally booked the room. A Lie! This mgt at this hotel is not trustworthy. I contacted CC to put the charge in dispute and seek a refund. I will also contact Hyatt INC inform them of this wrong conduct. Also the responsibility is on HOTELS.COM to make this right, I should not be fighting this battle. Hyatt Home Herndon/Reston is on my BLACK LIST for future.

When I got to my room, the window was missing the glass so I had an open window all night when the weather is quite humid. Felt like it was both a safety and climate issue. They were unable to do anything to help, and were unable to give me a different room.

They had two bedroom suites available. Some little finishing touches in the rooms could have been done better. Hiding the light switch behind the towel rack was dumb. The door to the one bedroom would not stay shut, the magnet latch didn't work. The door the the bathroom would not shut right

Front desk was helpful and courteous. Room was clean and comfortable. Bathroom area could use some attention, the chalk Around the shower needs to be replaced.

Great for families

In particular the staff was very friendly and helpful with all the many requests I made. They were accomodating with the 3 children we had in our group. Breakfast was so so. Would have liked bacon Sunday morning.

Vacation, buffet was great!

I appreciated the hotel’s quiet and clean environment, 24/7 fitness center, convenient highway access, and good location. After changing rooms, I was also pleased that the 2nd room offered more comfortable beds, making my family stay a bit enjoyable. My stay was disappointing due to a duplicate $1,054.17 charge, uncomfortable beds, poor customer service, unappealing breakfast, an unavailable pool without prior notice, and limited TV entertainment. Overall, I would not recommend this Hyatt House.

The property was clean, just dated. My room was clean, but had a bad smell. We wanted something with an outdoor pool, close to the airport. The pool/patio area was nice and the staff was super pleasant and helpful.

Great location; close to Reston Town Center Poorly maintained; torn/smelly carpets and rooms

The A/C in the room was extremely noisy, the curtains didn't close really well, the bathroom entrance was right next to the bed, so if someone was getting up earlier the lights from the bathroom bothered the person who was still sleeping. For the three days that we were there, one of the two elevators was out of order and nobody was seen working on it, the carpet in the lobby was stained, and the entertainment in the lobby was conflicting with the entertainment in the bar/breakfast area (two different music and TV on at the same time). Staff were very helpful, breakfast was decent and the room itself was clean. The location was convenient to us and there was parking always available.
