Studio 6 Extended Stay - Huntsville, AL University Drive

The room was absolutely filthy. You might think “yeah it’s a Motel 6” but for having a rating of 8.0 on Expedia, I expected something better if other people liked it. I’m not picky about where I stay and I don’t need frills, but reviews don’t usually lie. The vinyl floors were pure filth, the kind of long-unmopped floor that your socks stick to, the kind that you dare not touch with bare feet. The handle of the fridge felt sticky. The sinks had crud in them. The shower curtain and grout/corners had pink mold. The pillowcase had two weird stain spots that looked like dried blood. I didn’t want to use the bathroom overnight because I didn’t want the ick inside my sheets. I felt dirty and unwashed when I checked out this morning. I’m on my flight home now and still just feel icky. I had leftovers that I didn’t even want to touch this morning because it would mean touching that disgusting fridge handle again. Again, this is coming from someone who isn’t a clean freak or a germophobe. Management, please spare a rag and some cleaner for this poor room, my god.

I loved the stay a must stay

The room was very clean. The staff were friendly and helpful. The location was very convenient. (I was attending a convention at the Von Braun Center.) And the price was right. BTW - I was in a suite which had a full-size refrigerator, a microwave, and a toaster. The only negative (and it is a minor issue) is that there is no listing of the television stations available in the room or on the television. You have to scroll through all the channels to find the one you're looking for.

Some of the rooms at this hotel are renovated. Summer or not. I got an older style air conditioner.. this particular room on the ground floor had a smoke smell in the room and on the sheets.

Electric outlets did not work in the room, only bathroom. Phone and lights near bed did not work either. Woke to a bunch of riff raff hanging around the back of hotel.

The only positive thing I can say about this hotel is that the price was cheap. Unfortunately, you definitely get what you pay for. The first room I was given was filthy and unacceptable. The floor was dirty, the outside of the bathtub was disgusting, and the overall condition of the room made me uncomfortable staying there. I had to request another room because the first one was simply not acceptable. I also witnessed housekeeping enter a room, make the bed, and leave without changing the sheets. Seeing that made me seriously question how thoroughly the rooms are actually being cleaned between guests. When I asked for another room, the front-desk employee became upset and told me that if I didn’t like the next room, I would have to contact Expedia myself for a refund. That was extremely poor customer service and not the way a guest should be treated when reporting legitimate cleanliness concerns. There was also excessive nighttime traffic and people constantly walking around the property, which made the environment uncomfortable. I cannot say what those individuals were doing, but the amount of late-night activity certainly did not make me feel comfortable. The air conditioning worked well, but that’s about the only other positive I can mention. The bathroom was extremely small, and the overall experience was far below what I would consider acceptable. I would not stay at this hotel again…

It was nice that unit had a refrigerator

Friendly staff, clean rooms , cheap Not the greatest part of town. I wouldn’t leave any valuables in your car.

Room was full of smoking smell and we could only fit 4 people in 5 people capacity room.

Close to the University and stores The room wasn’t clean, bad smell, and bed very very uncomfortable to sleep, and bathtub wasn’t clean.

The check in was at 3:00 but the room wasn’t ready so we checked in at 4:00.I was tried from driving really disappointed didn’t get a discount or anything

Parking area great, clean room and staff was great

Clean rooms .no roaches. easy parking. Towels looked dirty, white was dingy. Other than that it was okay.

Room size and layout! Wonderful! Filthy shower curtains at the bottom. Bathroom vent needs cleaning. Comforter had cigarette burns.

The workers and maintenance are very rude , they beat on your door all times of the day . I don’t check in to be treated as I’m in the military. Very loud , more disturbance from them rather than the guest . Very unprofessional. And chaotic

The room had new furniture and fixtures, but overall was not clean. There were no bugs. Shower curtain had mold. No blow dryer or coffee maker. No shampoo or conditioner, just bar soap.

Dirty walls, hard bed, itchy sheets, shower was super hard to start, no shampoo, open soap, only 2 washcloths, and no power to plug in the phone next to the bed.
