Hyatt Place Iowa City Downtown

We got in late and wanted to eat-but they told us the portions were small and suggested we find something else. Buffalo Wild Wings and Raising Kane’s were a few blocks away-so we did that which it was a fine night for walking. Parking is $15/night - I didn’t see that before booking, only in an email after booking. Carpets had some stains. Good breakfast in the morning. Nice staff checking in.

Very nice place to stay. Our view from the 9th floor was excellent. Very clean and helpful staff.

Cons: The pool was small (no hot tub) and the breakfast is noisy but that is just part of travel sometimes.

Good breakfast in the morning. Easily accommodated 3 adults and 2 teenagers in one room. The parking garage was full, so we had to park in a different garage about 2 blocks away and then walk. The bonus though was that the further garage was free, whereas we would have had to pay to park at the hotel garage.

Fantastic experience!!

This Hyatt is very elegant and in a great location. The parking situation detracts from its positive attributes. The garage is underground, poorly lit and claustrophobic. It truly feels like the set of a horror movie. Btw, parking is an extra fee. The pool is quite small but well equipped with a new shower and plenty of fluffy towels. I don’t eat breakfast, so I can’t comment on the quality of the buffet but it is included. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The lobby and 2nd floor had a sewer smell. My room was scrupulously clean and quiet.

I almost liked everything. It was clean, the staff was nice, the location was close to every place I had to go. The only reason it didn't get a 10 was because the hotel didn't replenish anything. They didn't replace tissue or towels. They said they ran out of washcloths. The other thing is I had to pay for parking. I feel it should have been free for guest
