Sonesta Irvine John Wayne Airport

Cons: The breakfast was very good and the dinner menu was good but not excellent. I say very good because it was not excellent in terms of taste and price. For the money I expect it to be delicious. I've had better food elsewhere. I say this after ordering 4 appetizers and dinner plates from the menu. That being said, the menu items are priced high for what you get. Overall, I loved the hotel to stay to use the facilities, shower, and sleep in a comfortable bed in a quiet environment. To eat there, not so much.

Clean , great value

We arrived at the property early expecting to leave our luggage to attend our destination and return to check in. Staff check us in early and also upgraded us to a higher floor - beautiful room! We loved all the staff members, the cozy touches and even the fact that it was dog friendly! We had no clue. The rooms were clean and we will definetly return to any sonesta hotel!

Love the rooms, very clean, comfy bed, great shower! Haven’t been able to enjoy amenities because of time restraints but plan to stay there again so I can!!

Such an easy yes to this hotel. Hits all the notes without crushing the wallet

Only downside was that it is located right next to a major freeway which was audible in our room. Not terrible, but noticeable. Entirely outweighed by the positives. I would definitely stay here again.

The rooms are so clean and the staff are so nice during Check in they allowed me to do early check in with no additional charge.

The Hotel was very nice, very clean, staff were very responsive, the advertisement was false, breakfast is not included in the stay. Instead, they offered a $10 voucher as a compliment for false advertisement.

Prices on bottled water and packaged food is extortionate though because there’s no grocery stores around. $9 for a bottle of water and $6 for a small cup of instant noodles.

Great

Just overall a strange hotel , overpriced parking , resort fees and the place is not a resort I’m sorry. They can advertise that all they want it’s a mid level hotel. I needed to switch rooms two times , the first room was not clean and the second room had a broken tv. The staff was relatively helpful but not that friendly. I will not be staying here again.

Still 5 stars for a convenient airport location and a clean room.

Its location and proximity to the airport. Yet, it was very quiet and calm. I especially liked the seating areas and also availability of books and TOYO device for our grandchild. I liked everything !

Good time

At that point in time there was a single exit (the questionable third elevator) for the entire hotel, with emergency exits physically blocked. When I alerted staff they brushed this off as "if there actually was an emergency we would open the emergency exits". On a different day, with still only 2 out of 3 elevators functioning, the elevators where so overwhelmed at check-out time (wait times easily exceeding 15 minutes) that a good portion of people started using the stairways and forcefully opened the emergency exits which promptly triggered the alarm. Response of the staff was to start charging people for triggering the alarm. No attempt to remedy the situation/excessive wait time at elevators.

We stay at the Sonesta whenever we are in Irvine, it's the most consistent when it comes to comfort, great staff, cleanliness, easy access to parking and elevators. The rooms are spacious and the amenities are great. I highly recommend.
