Interesting fun place to stay

While the rooms were as clean as could be within a hotel that was almost completely under construction, it was COMPLETELY under construction and after speaking with others has been that way for years. There was construction garbage, tools, and even razor blades lining the hallways and parking lot. The pool has not been functional for several years and is used to store construction equipment, so don’t expect it to be up and running. We paid WAY too much for this place. Very disappointing.

They were in the middle of renovations and should not have had the hotel open during them. I literally had to walk across sheetrock rubble and wallpaper on the floor to get to the elevator. There was construction stuff everywhere, everything was dusty and torn apart, and then the workers were sitting in the parking lot right in front of the hotel drinking and blasting music from their car at 10pm. There wasn’t a single hallway, stairway, or entryway that was clean and in usable condition. Parking lot full of garbage, trailers, etc. Pool unavailable. If you are going to do this large of a renovation project, close the hotel. And this was also in the middle of the city hosting 16 high school softball/baseball teams for the state tournament. There are already limited places to stay, maybe this project could have waited a few weeks until the tournament was over?? Very dissatisfied with the condition of the hotel.

It was good. Liked the coffee and fresh friut. The hotel is renovating. It should NOT be hosting guests! There is a mess wherever you look. Our room had sheetrock dust everywhere. There were big chunks of tile putty all over the bathroom. Whoever is cleaning the rooms needs to step it up.

They are in the middle of remodeling the property. The check in area had dangerous tile spacers all over the freshly tiled floor. A big tripping hazard. They couldn’t find the luggage cart so staff had to help carry my gear. The hall outside my room had extreme construction debris on the floor. The ceiling tiles were mostly askew or missing. The room itself was very clean and freshly remodeled but the toilet seat was loose. This property is very close to I94 so I don’t recommend for light sleepers. The breakfast was decent. I wish I would’ve known about the remodel so I could’ve booked another site.

It was under construction, which was never mentioned when I called or when I booked online. I would not have chosen this hotel had I known it was under construction.

What wasn't explained was that the construction would be on every floor, blocking access to stair wells, commencing early every morning (including Sunday) and it would be loud, dusty, and intrusive. We came out of our room at one point to a person ripping wallpaper off the wall right next to our door. When we left on Sunday, we had to roll our suitcases over a tarp covered in dust from ceiling plaster removal - it was a total mess. Totally understand that hotels need a refresh - but this really should be done on a floor by floor basis and you shouldn't book guests on that floor while it's being done. Breakfast was solid as usual for a Holiday Inn Express - we purely stay for the rolls. Next time, there should be a heads up email letting you know what the status of the hotel is so that you can decide whether or not you want to stay in an active construction zone.

Hotel is being renovated, way to much noise and dust

Staff was great. Hot tub and pool have been out of order for a year. We got a handicap room that was very old and not clean. Usually we have great rooms at this holiday inn

At the time of booking, there was absolutely no information anywhere that renovation work was taking place in the hotel. I could understand if the construction had been on another floor, but instead we literally had to walk through piles of construction materials just to reach our room. Even worse, there was a strong smell of paint and acetone everywhere - from the lobby all the way to our room. It was very uncomfortable and unacceptable for guests. The internet connection was also very unstable. At first, we could not connect at all. After calling the front desk, they suggested another way to connect, but the connection kept dropping every 10-15 minutes. No real solution was provided. When we asked why renovation work had not been mentioned during booking, the staff insisted that the information was listed on Booking.com. However, after searching for about 10 minutes, even they could not find any mention of it. Instead, they offered us a room in another hotel connected to their property, but it was clearly a cheaper hotel with a lower rating. When I asked about compensation, they offered only a $6 discount if we moved to the other hotel. This was not acceptable, so we canceled the reservation. After a long and tiring day, this situation was extremely frustrating and disappointing. I do not recommend staying here.

The pool is currently closed but you can use one at the neighboring hotels. Overall a delightful stay and I’d love to go back!

The only fault I found, is this hotel doesn’t clean the room daily or weekly.

Nothing Everything. Super small parking lot. The front desk guy was nice enough, but he did not give me any warning or heads up about the remodeling on the floor I was booked on. I got off the elevator to a scene that was straight out of an apocalypse.

We had a newborn and a 2 year old child with us and whenever we got to the floor we were supposed to stay on the entire hallway was a hazard issue, everything tore apart laying everywhere the smell of the fumes were so strong.. it was horrible. We ended up leaving and having to stay at a different hotel, no way were we staying there. Safe to say they just took our money and now we have to deal with it because it’s hard to get money back through Expedia, even with the insurance.

Room was so dusty from Sheetrock work- pool was unusable- plan on Grandkids swimming- biggest disappointment was the price - after nothing on reservation site stated about renovation and pool not working- front counter poorly staffed !!! This hotel is very overpriced for value ! Tried talk with staff but front counter was never staffed - Parking lot was hardly passable after snow- all area businesses had cleared lots for several hours and vehicles struggled to maneuver hotel lot - over priced !!!

We should never have been charged the full rate, we were in a construction zone. There was sawing, banging until almost 8:00z. After driving 13 hours that was not acceptable.

Only reason I booked here is because it showed excellent ratings. We got to the hotel and could already tell just from the outside what we could look forward to inside. Room was disgusting! Carpet was so dirty it was almost black. One of the beds had dirty sheets on it with what looked like urine spots all over them. The other bed had sheets that were too small, and wouldn't stay on the bed and had no mattress cover with a very stained mattress. The bathroom was no better. The shower was filthy and clearly hadn't been cleaned. There was urine all in the floor around the toilet, and blood on the toilet seat. Would definitely book somewhere else before staying here. Could have stayed somewhere way nicer for the $190 that I was charged.

Clean room and good breakfast.

Our room just wasn’t the cleanest. There were nail clippings and some trash under the bathroom sink. The countertop in the bathroom was still dirty. It seems like the rest of the room was clean but the bathroom got a quick spot cleaning. One of the hand towels had seemed like it was already used also and not replaced. The front desk staff though was wonderful!

Location good. Waffle maker, supplies there, no machine. Pool unavailable.
