Sad to see a once great property fall this far. When we checked in, they gave us a smaller room then I had reserved/paid for. Did not say anything about it, but gave us a $30 per night cheaper room, without reducing my bill by $30 per night. When I said something about it to the front desk clerk, she said they could not refund me the difference, so she would move me to the correct room type. The room we were moved to was the right room type, but showed clear signs of forced entry on the door, and the dead bolt would not lock. When I called thevfront desk again, they came up to look, and the guy mentioned something about "oh yeah, the police had to force their way in. I forgot about that.". So they moved us to a 3rd room. This room had issues with it's A/C and hot water. After running for hours at full blast, the room never got cooler than 75 degrees, and the water, after running straight hot for 15 minutes, never got any warmer than maybe 85 degrees. Rather than risk a 4th room, we just stayed put, and spent most of our time away from the hotel. Once upon a time (some years ago), this was the top hotel in Jefferson City. Quite a shame to see it fall to this. Won't be staying here again, no matter how much they offer me a "reduced rate".

The staff was awesome. They let me swap rooms on the 4th of July so we could see the fireworks show. What an amazing experience!

I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. The property is severely understaffed, and it's obvious the employees are being asked to do far too much. One young woman appeared to be running the entire front desk by herself—checking guests in, answering questions, handling complaints, and taking care of numerous other responsibilities. She was doing her best, but no one should be expected to manage all of that alone. The lack of staffing reflects poor management, not the employees. The photos online are extremely misleading. The hotel looks nothing like the pictures. As soon as you walk inside, you're hit with a strange, unpleasant smell. The building is outdated, worn down, and clearly hasn't been properly maintained. The amenities advertised are also disappointing. Standard rooms don't have refrigerators or microwaves, and even some of the suites have appliances that don't work. Guests are expected to store food in the hotel's kitchen and use a shared microwave that was dirty and unsanitary. That is unacceptable, especially for families or guests staying more than one night. The biggest issue, however, was the bed bugs. We encountered them during our stay, and another family told us they had the same problem. We also witnessed another family leaving the hotel earlier that day. That alone should be enough reason to avoid staying here. Overall, this hotel needs major renovations, better housekeeping, proper pest control.

Great location

Needs lots of updating. I stayed at this hotel back in 1989 for the state track meet & I’m pretty sure it hasn’t been updated since then. Felt like going back in time. I mean the rooms don’t even have refrigerators.

The room was clean, but the hotel is becoming a bit dated. Some of the exterior areas need to be cleaned up as well. The breakfast was good and the staff were friendly.

This was a great hotel in an excellent location. Although it had faded a bit from when it was new, it was still a nice change from the standard chain hotels.
-
Hotel had a very nice breakfast. Staff were really nice as well. Pool was clean they also had postings for a scvanger hunt to find the beach balls all around the hotel it was alot of fun.
-
Guest services was very helpful with room service. Room was well kept, breakfast was really great, and overall I rated my experience a perfect 5 five stars.
-
It had a nice open floor plan and was located centrally to everything I needed to get to. I wish it was easier to find the ice machines

Also, be aware that the hotel charges an extra non-refundable $10 for parking. This wasn’t disclosed until our room was booked.

It’s not in the best area, staff was nice, rooms are ok.

Room was not attended to for the stay of 3 nights

It was super cool on the inside! Bed was really comfortable. Excellent value for what I paid! The breakfast wasn’t great. No orange juice… but edible.
