If they’d shampoo the carpets and repaint while thoroughly cleaning the linens & towels - it’d go a long way. Also there were no usable curtains and the window shade can be seen through, so it’s not a dark room and you feel on display.

Definitely a dated hotel but everyone was nice. Our shower didn’t work correctly and was either cold or scalding hot, and didn’t drain well, but it was just one night so we just suffered through it. Only two floors and I don’t think there is an elevator so don’t have a lot of stuff.

close to freeway and shopping mall

The rooms are clean and comfortable. The staff are really friendly and helpful. This is my favorite place to stay in the area.

Compared to other area hotels it seemed to be the best option, though not something I would choose if I had better options. It was clean, well kept and good stay for what / where it was. Meh..I travel alot and stay in Marriott brand hotels often so expectations are hight.. It was okay but not great.

With only relatively minor issues, the stay was great. It was our first time at this location; we usually stayed at the Red Lion that is now burned down. Cost was pretty close to the same but the place is much better than Red Lion ever was: Same breakfasts, cleaner rooms, somewhat better Internet. The downside in comparison was a smaller pool and a hottub that is currently in the middle of remodel; the jets have to be turned on by staff because it is currently powered by a wet/dry vac. There is also no elevator, so if you want the second floor, you still need to take the stairs. The windows are thicker, meaning a lot less noise. And the staff is excellent, all friendly and very knowledgable of the area. Having graduated from Kelso High School, there are a couple of local laments like the condition of the mall that had just opened the two years I was at Kelso High and the current (hopefully only one more year) closure of the end-of-the-road Mt. St. Helens observatory. Beyond that, my family and I greatly appreciate this place and our stay there in July 2026.

The toilet was gross. The lady at the front desk was kind a rude and was out smoking every chance she had. No elevator to get our bags up the 2 flights of stairs. We won't be staying here again. The only good point was the breakfast. It was hot and tasty.

Close to the highway No elevator
-
The towels were not comfortable and there wasn’t enough for 2 people staying

Average hotel at best. Not terrible but wouldn’t stay there again. Dated styling, carpets. Hard beds. Noisy rooms right next to highway. Free, but very limited breakfast. Again, not terrible but not great. Average 3.

Great property for passing through..

The hotel is relatively new, clean, and the staff is very friendly,.The rooms were fairly large and there are lots of outlets and phone charging plugs. The pool is pretty small but it’s accessible and there’s a decent workout room as well overall it’s a good place to stay in The Dalles.

Just perfect, clean and in a good safe area.

This place does not look like much on the outside and we got nervous when we pulled up… But once we got there, the people were so incredibly kind and even though it’s dated, they do a great job of keeping it up and keeping it clean! My husband ended up getting sick and even though they didn’t have to when we left a night early, they reimbursed us for our last night. We will for sure stay there again when we’re in town! The staff made all the difference for our experience.

This hotel was just okay. The room was clean enough. The sheets, however, did not fit the bed so had to keep putting it back in place. This is the first time I've encountered this during any of my hotel stays. The walls must be thin as we did hear high levels of noise from down the hallway and other rooms. The top of the headboard had a bright light. When we tried to switch it off, no switch was to be found. The only way to turn it off was to unplug. Kind of odd. The parking lot also had a big container located toward the end which made it a little difficult to park in that area. Overall, not terrible but definitely not $200/night worthy.

We walked in, and no one was at the desk to check us in. Finally after about 10 minutes of my son and I standing there, a woman who was playing cards at a nearby table got up and checked us in after watching us the entire time. The next morning we came to the breakfast room at 6:30 and there was hardly any food, so we left.

Staff was very nice but there was a huge noisy group of people there that took over the entire lobby and pool. They were drinking and leaving trash everywhere. None of the other guests could enjoy the amenities because they had completely taken over and the staff was not regulating the situation.
