The place is a work in progress. The outside is ugly in a lot of areas but the room was first class. Major time & money being spent to upgrade the property. A pool is installed now, but was not opened. Plenty of parking I wish I could see the finished property.

The beds weee comfortable and appeared to be clean. The building is old and everything pretty much needs. Reno. The price was a little high for what it’s worth. No ice, everything was old, pool was not operable.

My main disappointment was that the listing mentioned a shared area, but when we arrived, it was under construction. There appeared to be a new pool that was already filled with water, but it was out of order, so we weren’t able to use the pool or the shared area. I just wish this had been mentioned beforehand so we knew what to expect. The beach closest to the motel wasn’t the best and had a pretty strong smell, so I would recommend going to another beach. We went to Fort Zachary Taylor instead and liked it much more, although there was still quite a bit of algae and some areas felt a little unkempt. The surroundings were actually really cool if you like vintage or slightly run-down aesthetics. Some of it even reminded me a little of Cuba, which I personally liked. It made the area really interesting for taking pictures, and I got a lot of nice photos while walking around. (And yes, I brought bb mj everywhere😭). Overall, we had a nice stay and really liked the room and location. I’d just recommend checking beforehand which amenities are currently available because of the construction.

Well the room was updated however no firealarm and wires were hanging out of th wall. Next room was very loud til 2am and staff wouldnt do anything about it. Pool was under maintenance for over weeks and closed to guests even though at booking nothing was mentioned about it.

Receptionist was very helpful and communicative I didn’t like the smell in the room, might be air freshener.

Convenient location. Triple bedded room was very spacious. Very clean and functional. Felt expensive for very basic accommodation but equally appreciate that Key West is very expensive! Air con was very noisy.

Ants in the bathroom, pool was closed.

Location was great, a few blocks from Duval st. Size of the room exceeded my expectations. Ants in the bathroom, pool was closed.

I do have a couple negatives: 1) the pool: it is still being remodeled and that should have been advertised! Apparently they just filled it with water the last couple days, but there is still construction. And with the beaches not being swim beaches that much, that was a big disappointment. 2) “Night life”: some fellow neighbors decided to have some loud conversations and smoking weed. We could smell it through the windows that are still the very old tilt glass windows. They did lower their voices after asking them. But later there were more doing the same two things. 3) The coffee creamer is old or simply got hard due to the humidity?!? Never had that in any other motel so far. 4) the lights at night being on in front of the rooms. That is definitely great for people being outside when it’s dark. But if you like sleeping in the dark, that is not happening. Even with the blinds down as they are only paper blinds. Other than that, it was a very nice experience and I would definitely recommend this motel to others!
