We were placed in a bad location, by the elevators in a handicap room even though we were not handicapped. The noise from above and outside and by the elevator made it difficult to sleep.

We checked in, immediately went to eat, and returned only to find 1/3 of the room was soaking wet due to a leaking A/C we presume. We reported the issued to the front desk, but they said they didn't have any more rooms, but they could put some towels down. The room was dangerous! A slip risk due to water-soaked carpet and an electrical shock risk due to the soaking wet carpet and electrical cords about. They didn't help us find another hotel, they only stated there were some up the street. Upon our return home we discovered they charged us for the uninhabitable room anyway which we will dispute unless you can help right away. I emailed the Holiday Inn Express Kingsville Manager on Monday, June 22, 2026, with evidence that we paid for a La Quinta Inn hotel up the street and we haven't had the courtesy of a response yet.

The folks that were to stay there could not make it the first day. I tried contacting Expedia through customer service and that didn’t go very well. The telephonic menu in trying to get to the right person to resolve the issue was problematic, and I just couldn’t get through. When the parties arrived the second day, it was learned that the reservation was all together canceled. I had paid for the two day stay in advance. A new reservation needed to be made and paid with a different credit card. At the end of the day, the reservation was paid twice. One to Expedia and one directly to the hotel. I will be calling Expedia tomorrow and try to negotiate an arrangement. I have used Expedia for a number of years and nothing like this has happened before.

The staff at this hotel are great. The hotel itself is a little bit run down. My room was very clean but it smelled musty. I should have asked for another room, I didn't. After spending two night in the room I ended up with a head cold. If your room smells musty ask for another one.

They gave my prepaid room to another gentleman, but still booked me in it, on arrival. I was very surprised to open the door and find a man in his underwear, in the room I was just given keys to. The staff was not really apologetic and very confused, which made me extra confused on the situation. They ended up giving me the man’s booked room, a king standard room, and let him stay in the double queen suite I had paid for. I was still charged for the double suite. Money lost out of my pocket and was never reimbursed for… The manager promised me a free room voucher, but I never received one that evening, so I brought up what was promised to a different staff member the next morning. He requested that I get 4000 points but needed management permission. A couple hours later, I only received 2000 points. 32,000 points is needed for a free stay. Nothing near what was promised from the manager the night of the incident. In the end, I lost money, had a scaring experience, could not sleep that night afraid that someone would just walk in my room, and was lied to. I will never book here again!

I was here for two nights and there was a false fire alarm both nights…..at exactly the same time, down to the minute! 5:35 am. It was awful! I couldn’t go back to sleep after that huge jolt of adrenaline. There was no regular coffee, only decaf. I had to call several times and ask for it, then they finally said they didn’t have any and had to go buy some. The bed is good, thank goodness! But the bathroom needs work. It needs a new tub really badly. I stayed here because of the electric car charges, though…..the only ones in Kingsville.

Took 2 ppl 20 minutes to check me in. Then gave me a room that was already occupied with people in it that were on the middle of relations. Then had to wait while they continued to check other people in to get my room changed. Then they actually called the new room I was assigned to make sure no one was in it. Once I got to my new room I turned my room refrigerator up and put my food in it. When I woke up the next morning it was still hot. I told the front desk to please fix it. When I returned later that day it was still hot. I went downstairs and ask again if I could get a new refrigerator. They sent someone up with one that looked like it fell down a flight of stairs and was too big to fit in the space the old one occupied. I was then offered another one but I told maintenance no thanks
