Grande Colonial Hotel

This hotel was grand indeed! Best location in La Jolla. Beautiful grounds and pool area. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I dislike parking valet because I don’t like having to wait, but they were so quick and efficient. The upholstery and rugs could use a deep clean but I would stay here with pleasure over and over again.

We had a great time & enjoyed our stay. The breakfast at nine-ten restaurant was delicious & great service. Thank you for a pleasant stay.

We enjoyed our stay at the Colonial. From valet at check in to valet at check out everyone was very helpful. E-bikes for an hour included. Coffee in the mornings provided. Rooms were comfortable and beds were great. Minibar snacks and soft drinks included and refreshed when requested. Housekeeping and grounds keepers friendly. Restaurant was delish for dinner and half price wine bottles on Wednesdays curated by sommelier Chris was a real pleasure. Pool was great. (A hot tub would make it better). Great central location. Would stay here again.

Items of complain: (1) My shower didn't work well, (2) toilet bad positikned in the bathroom, very close to the wall, (3) trucks making hotel service making loud noise before 7-am

The complimentary bottled water and snacks in the room were a thoughtful touch and much appreciated after a day out. The standout members of the staff was housekeeping, they were friendly, attentive, and consistently provided exceptional service. Unfortunately, the front desk, management, and valet experience didn’t match that same level of hospitality. While they were professional, they didn’t seem particularly warm or eager to welcome guests, which was disappointing given the hotel’s reputation and price point. A more personable and engaging approach at check-in and with valet service would make a strong first impression and better reflect the quality of the property. Overall, I would recommend the Grande Colonial for its location and comfortable accommodations. If guest-facing staff and valet offered a more welcoming experience, this hotel would be exceptional.

We had an ocean view room which was amazing! The best part was that the windows opened so we were not only able to take in the beautiful view but also the sea breeze. I would definitely stay again!

The whole experience for me staying at that hotel was wonderful! I was so relaxed and rested by the time I left. TheMichilien distinguished restaurant meal was the best of a lifetime. We plan to go back for our anniversary!

The photos and descriptions on line were spot on. I looked at several hotels in the area and was extremely happy with my decision. The hotel is centrally located, within walking distance of all the great restaurants on the area. We had a very nice, clean and upgraded room with a view of the ocean. This is our new go to hotel in La Jolla

A beautiful hotel in the center of lovely La Jolla. Rooms were comfortably sized and bed very comfy. Valet was generally excellent though there was one time we really needed the car quickly and I could not find the valet for 10-15 mins.

Valet parking is free. Small hotel feeling. Views of ocean. Five minute walk to beach. Great location on downtown La Jolla. Water and snacks in room are free. Shower water is hot almost instantly. About half the price, and as good, as nearby more famous La Valencia Hotel.

Great, classical hotel if you wanna be in the heart of La Jolla for shops, dinners, and walking down to the ocean. Staff was helpful and friendly grounds were well-maintained. Personally I like to be outside of the hustle a little more but that’s just my taste.
