Best Western Plus La Mesa San Diego

Staff was kind, breakfast was great and room was clean. Only complaint is I was gone all day and came back at 3pm and room was not cleaned yet.

Rooms are always clean everytime i stay. Staff are friendly and accommodating when needed always welcoming.breakfast has a good variety. Im not a fan of the eggs that they use

The hotel is older but most hotels in the area are. We stayed in a multi-bed unit which was massive, it was the size of a one bedroom condo. I only wish it had two bathrooms. It did have a kitchenette, microwave, two fridges, two closets, two queen beds, two sitting areas, a large living room, a couch, two tv’s, and a balcony. There was a coffee maker with multiple coffee selections. The free breakfast was great, serving things like eggs, bacon, sausage, waffles, pancakes, fruits, cereals, yogurt, pastries, etc. The hotel was located right off the interstate and we drove to the nearby trolley station, parked our car there and utilized public transportation to get downtown. Parking was easy and free! The staff were very pleasant! I would absolutely stay there again!

All the hotels around you check out at 3pm, but I asked and they refused, and the rooms weren't clean. I would never recommend them.

Our room was dirty and it smelled, which is probably why our door was being held open with a towel when we checked in. The vent in the bathroom didn’t work, which caused the pink substance on the ceiling to drip. The towel hook fell off the door when we hung towels on it. The carpets were sticky and dirty. And there wasn’t a working phone, which I discovered when I tried to call the front desk. The pool and hot tub sit at the end of the parking lot, littered with cigarette butts, surrounded by freeways. They look nice in the pics but aren’t! The beds and breakfast were Best Western lipstick on a pig.

Very comfortable and a great stay!

The property was clean and the parking was plentiful. The area was 3 min away from shopping and restaurants.

They charged my card for the room total which was already pre paid and I lost about $1000 for the trip and it couldn’t be refunded until 5 days and that really messed our trip up.

My biggest issue was that the EV chargers were Tesla only -- and even though i have the appropriate adapter, it wouldn't charge my vehicle.

The staff was very helpful and pleasant. The breakfast was actually very nice for what was anticipated. The grounds, common areas and hallways were clean. The problem was the room. Heating and air were provided by a wall-mounted "split" (I think they're called), and the whole room smelled musty, perhaps a combination of humidity, perspiration, cleaning agents, deodorants and I hope not mold in the AC. I had reserved for 2 nights and checked out immediately after the first. I don't think anyone with allergies, asthma or other breathing issues would be able to stay.

We stayed here July 15-17, 2026. Our first night we were put in room 301, directly facing the I-8 freeway. The combined freeway and AC fan noise was almost unbearable. Maritza and Shahad found us a 4th floor room for the 2nd night with no noise at all! Thank you Maritza and Shahad for your kind & understanding service. You were great!

The full breakfast was good and the staff was very friendly. The only thing since our room was close to the freeway we could hear the cars on the road. Other than that…..everything else was great!! I would stay again!!!

Older hotel that really needs upgrading. Internet very slow, shower head very low, breakfast choices have been cut back, parking spaces are way too close together, and room walls are paper thin. Plus, several outlets in the room did not work, as per usual.
