Holiday Inn Express La Mesa Near SDSU by IHG

The hotel was a fine stay. The room has a tiny kitchen area that was unexpected. The beds were comfy and felt very clean with crisp white bedding. The hotel is on the older side, and the hallways and elevator smelled old and musty, but the room was nice. I would just make sure not to touch the odd padded area of the headboards - they looked gross. Otherwise, the breakfast was a standard continental breakfast, coffee machine was cool, and cold water is available to refill your own cups.

It was a great location for what we were there for. I also like how convenient some food places were and the freeway.

Location was easy to find, easy check in and courteous staff. Room was nice and comfy. My only issue was the shower. Poor pressure and frustrating. Manager doesn’t seem to care about it as most holiday inns have this issue. Thank you.

I didn’t sleep very well because I could hear people on the floor above me walking around. Also, the noise from the air conditioners which are outside. The windows are very noisy. In addition, I was across the street from a car wash and I could hear the noise from the vacuums and air sprayers in the morning and afternoon. Their customer service/management could use some improvement. I was in originally going to stay a Friday night, which was significantly more expensive. The manager agreed to change the date on my reservation however he would not change the price. I don’t think I will stay here again, even though it is pretty close to SDSU.

The room was very clean and in great shape, the hotel is very close to restaurants around, the staff were very nice and friendly.

The hotel was great very close to dining and shopping. The staff very friendly and professional. The room was amazing will always stay here and refer to friends and family.

The room was clean, staff was friendly. Breakfast was nice, I enjoyed the biscuits and gravy. Parking was easier this time, seems they have redone the parking spaces to make them wider so you can actually park your car. Very nice and stress free stay.

This was our second time staying at the property and we'll be back again! This last stay was to move in our freshman at SDSU. Coming from out of state, it was amazing to be able to have our Amazon packages delivered directly to the hotel. When we checked in, Miguel was so helpful and had our packages all organized and ready to roll into our room. We had some big stuff and things that required assembly. Miguel even found the perfect size screwdriver for us to borrow. It was just those little things that made our stay great and helped stress levels. The location of the hotel is perfect. Target, Costco and tons of places to eat right out the front door. Easy freeway access for getting to campus or anywhere else. Breakfast is a plus and also a clean, useable gym are important to me. Staff (another shout out to Miguel!) are super nice and helpful.
