Tru by Hilton Lafayette River Ranch

We loved the games in the lobby. The breakfast was very crowded and we didn’t get to utilize it bc there were so many people and so few ways to get the hot breakfast.

Had a great one night stay while in town for a family event. Convenient location, friendly check-in staff that was very helpful. We’ll stay again if needed.

I have stayed here at least once a month for the past year and a half. I have noticed the cleanliness of the hotel has decreased. Rooms don't seem to be getting cleaned properly. Bathroom showers have mold (last 3 stays). The bed mattress sit on a platform, I noticed this last time that there were crumbs and a used straw on the platform. Even the lobby is some what dirty. I wanted to sit and drink a coffee but all the chairs in the breakfast lobby area were stained. I have stayed in Tru hotels in other cities with no issues and I haven't had issues here until the last few stays. I mentioned it to the staff at check out. Hopefully they address the issues with staff. But for now I will look for other accommodations.

Clean room

The hotel was very clean. The staff very friendly. Chaz was great. First thing I noticed was the smell, the room smelled great. The shampoo was the only thing I didn't care for and the noise all night sounded like running and doors slamming.

Our room for 4 people including 2 children only had 1 towel and staff were very rude when we asked them for more. They said they didn’t have any and we waited over 3 hours to get more. Couldn’t bathe the kids until almost midnight! No ice no hot coffee

This is my first time to type out a review, but hopefully I can save others from what I had to endure at this hotel. I booked one double queen bed for one night for myself, my sister in law, my daughter, & my niece. I made the reservations around 7:30, & arrived around 8:00. When I was attempting to check in, I was told I couldn’t bc the reservation was under my husbands name, to which he was not with me. It takes one click, name change typed, one more click to update who would be checking in, & bc I didn’t take the five seconds it would had taken to do this, it became a issue that has never been an issue, or should had never been an issue. I’ll spare you the play by play, but I had to get my husband on the phone to verbally confirm permission to check in under his name. The hotel was clean, but the scent they pump through the vents was so strong that I had to wash every piece of clothing we brought on the trip when I got home. It was so strong that the nasal spray in had in my over night bag had to be thrown away. The chapstick I had in my purse had to be thrown away bc for the next week, every time I would put it on, it smelled of the hotel. Each bed had three CHEAP pillows……why not two or four?? The beds were very uncomfortable, & the sheets were as bad as the pillows were. I’ll never stay at the brand hotel again mostly due to the “curated” smell.

The housekeeping lacks attention to detail. A simple application of bleach in the shower would resolve the mold buildup around the shower frame, as well as on the shampoo and soap dispensers. There is also a notice in the room stating that housekeeping is provided every other day. However, during my three-night stay, my room was not serviced even once. The common areas also need more attention. Trash bags left by other guests remained in the hallways for more than 24 hours without being collected. In the breakfast area, there were dirty tables and spilled liquids on the floor, yet no staff member seemed concerned about cleaning them. Overall, the hotel appears to be lacking basic care and attention. It also seems likely that the property is understaffed, making it difficult to keep up with routine tasks. Finally, the front desk staff left a poor impression. They rarely made eye contact with guests and often appeared disengaged. On several occasions, employees were leaning across the front desk or sitting with their feet up, which did not reflect a professional or welcoming atmosphere. The location is great, and there are several good restaurants nearby, which is one of the reasons I kept coming back. However, this will be my last stay at this hotel.
