Candlewood Suites Lake Charles South by IHG

Staff was very nice. The issue was the room. Water to the toilet was turned off. We’re not sure why. The hot water wasn’t working properly. We finally managed to get some sort of warm water. The bathtub wasn’t draining properly, and the water had a blue hue to it. Coffee wasn’t stocked with regular. They only stocked decaf. The blanket for the pull out bed in the living room area was missing.

Hotel Staff was new and took forever to check us in, no free breakfast as advertised, they tried to charge me for the water i already had. Hotel could use some customer service improvements or training, otherwise room and location were great

The outdoor smoking/ picnic/ bbq covered area. No am breakfast.

Only problem was the hot water not coming out on the shower. Front desk greeted us great. Rooms were clean. There was some noise coming from the new construction next door but i would stay there again.

Room: Super Clean and Quiet, no voice of TV disturb from next room.

Great facility. Close to Casinos and shopping. Near expressway. Very convenient! Would stay again. It is in fact a suite with full kitchen.

I stayed here because it was a newer property. The shower curtain was to short and would not stay in the tub so when you took a shower water went all over the bathroom floor. The phone was not plugged into the wall. The USB ports on the lamp were all broken. There was a coat hanger from a previous guest left on the chair in the room. I expected much more for the price I paid.

The room is very nice and clean. USB chargers didn’t work. Staff friendly. Reserved a double room but only got a single. They don’t honor 3rd party reservations but will give what’s available.

The room was clean and comfortable, no issues there. The problem was housekeeping & communication or the lack of it. Despite having a confirmed late checkout: • 9:30 AM: Housekeeping knocked on the door. • 11:30–11:45 AM: Another knock from a different staff member. • 12 PM: The hotel called asking who I spoke to about the late checkout because “it wasn’t in the system.” Even after I explained everything for the third time, at 1 PM, the same young man knocked again and said, “I don’t mean to rush you, but can I at least get the linen off the bed?” At that point, we were getting dressed for our event. My husband had already gone to get a luggage cart and saw the same staff member waiting by our door. Completely unnecessary and absolutely inappropriate. This wasn’t a misunderstanding, it was repeated harassment after the hotel had already approved our late checkout. Housekeeping showed poor etiquette, no respect for guests’ privacy, and zero internal communication. We chose this hotel specifically because they said they could accommodate our request. Instead, we were interrupted four times and made to feel rushed and unwelcome. I travel often, and I will not be returning to this location. Train your staff about proper etiquette.
