Castle by the Sea

The room was clean and proximity to the beach and restaurants were a plus. Check in worked, but was strange. We got there around 10PM, and there was a sign on the door saying that the office closed at 6PM. I called the numbers on the door. No one answered. I checked my emails, and sure enough, there was an email on behalf of the motel giving me instructions on how to get into the room after hours. I guess, not a huge headache, just weird. I guess when you are a small business, you have to improvise to make ends meet. Beds were comfortable enough, but we should have read the description better, they were double beds, not queens, so my gargantuan 16 year old son, had to sleep on the same double bed as his older sister. It worked, but it was a bit stressful for a few minutes. Pool was nice and well kept. Only weird thing in the room was the bathroom door was upside down. Worked fine, but we had a good laugh about it.

The fact they provide beach umbrella and chairs really helped us to have a comfortable time at the beach. The room was pretty big and they were very flexible with our check-in. Really close to the beach so very convenient! There was a little bit of what it seemed to be gecko’s poop inside the pool, which pushed me away. The next day it was not there anymore so they cleaned very quickly.

Location, Cleanliness. The hotel reception is not open all day, which caused problems when I arrived at the hotel.

Short walk to all the restaurants and night life. I liked it all

Small but nice pool and seating with shade very comfortable. Short walk to the beach. One room wouldn't lock from inside. Both bathrooms had issues with water temperature. Ours wouldn't warm up and the other (I'm told) would switch between very hot to cold and back again.

The pool is great and has a nice little cabana area. The location is great, right next to a bunch of restaurants and walking distance, like feet, to the beach. We really like this area. I stayed here another time and had a great room but this one, Room 1, was terrible! Do not stay in Room 1! The room is ridiculously small, like you have to walk sideways to get between the bed and the dresser. The bathroom is ridiculously small (see pics), the room has a connected door to the front office where everyone checks in so you can hear them and they can hear you, and the little tiny refrigerator in the room is barely accessible as it open with the wall towards the opening (again, see pics). This stay was not good because of the room and it wasn't that well priced compared to much better rooms.

Cute and cosy nicely decorated and very clean. Nice little pool area water was crystal clear. The bathroom was ridiculously small.

Great location Although there is a kitchenette, there was only one outlet to power the coffee maker and microwave.
