The room was clean and this was a quaint little vintage motel. A little worn out. I think it was overpriced for the amenities and age of the place.

That said, there are a few things to be aware of before booking. Although there is a $125 cleaning fee, there is no daily housekeeping service. For stays longer than four days, the sheets are changed once, but otherwise you are responsible for keeping the room tidy. The complimentary shampoo, conditioner, and soap are very small, and because there is no housekeeping, you'll need to track down the owner for refills. The owner is accommodating but is not always on site, so this can be inconvenient. The property itself is older and shows its age in several areas. During our stay, someone nearby was smoking marijuana, and the smell drifted into our room throughout the night. The beds were also extremely squeaky, to the point that even small movements caused loud squeaking, which made it difficult for anyone who is a light sleeper or sharing the bed. Overall, this is a very laid back, hands off property in an outstanding location. If you're looking for a simple place to stay near the beach and don't mind minimal services, it may be a good fit. If you prefer a more traditional hotel experience with daily housekeeping and more amenities, you may want to consider other options.

Maravilloso el lugar

Wonderful stay! Bill was a wonderful host. He made sure we had everything we needed for our 2 night stay. There were beach chairs, towels, umbrellas, a small styrofoam ice chest available for us to use in the room. There were also boogie boards, sand toys, and wagons available to use as well. The rooms were clean and they connected which provided plenty of space for our family of 5! Can’t recommend this hotel enough.

There were no bugs or lizards in the room. I saw the Orkin guy making his rounds as we were headed out. Just thought I’d let you know if that kind of thing is important to you! (It is to me!) Bill was helpful and friendly. The area is walkable with plenty to do. You really don’t need to drive. If you do explore, Ft. Lauderdale is a quick 10 or 15 minute drive (depending on traffic) and Miami is about an hour and a half. We did both. I would stay here again longer! Thoroughly enjoyed by all.

Very nice for family travel . Lots of space in rooms . Walking distance to shops and beach.

Bill at Le mer is very nice and helpful. The room was super clean. The hotel is close to the beach. Just across the street. A few blocks down there are multiple restaurants and bars to choose from. Lauderdale by the sea is a wonderful place to stay. This is my second year in a row coming here. Stayed 14 nights. Had a wonderful time. Fort lauderdale is very close and pompano beach is very close as well.

Bill did an excellent job from check in to check out. Room was clean and comfortable

The property is convenient and located a short walk to the LBTS Square. The location is directly on A1A which can be noisy at times.

This is my favourite place to stay in Lauderdale by the sea. It’s safe, convenient, clean and the staff goes out of their way to help. I used to stay at a popular hotel down the road but ever since I discovered LaMer, I have always stayed there. You should too. You will love it and come back often.

The manager Bill was excellent- very on top of things! We were impressed with access to beach and that chairs, umbrella, cooler, towels were all included. The place could have been a little cleaner but nothing that we couldn’t fix by washing a few things. Would stay here again!

It was great having access to beach towels and chairs to use as well as having the pool footsteps outside of our room. Location is on the main strip so it is walkable to everything you’d need! So close to everything yet felt safe with auto lights at night and locked door to get in the courtyard. Bill is super friendly and communicated with us seamlessly for check in and check out. Wish we could have stayed longer!

Bill was so easy to communicate with and helped us with an early check-in after our dog received cancer treatment, as well as good communication about the property prior to booking. We loved how close the property was to the cute downtown area and the beach. We would stay again!

Beautiful place

Great location that is within walking distance to the downtown area and 2 streets over from the beach. Room was clean and well equipped! We were surprised to even see beach chairs/coolers for the rooms! The owner Bill was very kind and accommodating! Pillows could be more comfortable and only had 3 of them
