We love the location and cool vibes. Great for UK visiting.

Nice big corner room - which was very clean. Hotel very centrally located.

My only disappointment was that the art gallery in the building was temp closed for the day and it was my only day there. Next time 21C!

Coffee maker would not work in the room, toilet was not functioning when I arrived, restaurant and bar were under construction, a few signs of wear and tear in the units.

I love this chain and stay at them whenever possible… It’s a shame they don’t offer a frequent Stay program. They really are hip, well located, and well appointed.

Historic building in an urban setting with great contemporary art. Their restaurant is closed for renovation but there are several fantastic restaurants within walking distance.

We love the 21C properties normally and stayed at this location in 2019. It was lovely, a great location in the middle of downtown Lexington, and close to shopping and restaurants. Sadly, the hotel feels worn now. Our first room had a toilet that was leaking on the floor, needing to be pulled and resealed. We were then upgraded to a corner room on the 14th floor which was amazing with great views from two sides of downtown and beyond. However, some of the paint on trim was peeled or nicked, the refrigerator was leaking water, ruining the wood cabinet in which it sat, and the pull rod on a curtain was no longer attached, making it difficult to fully open the curtain. Since the restaurant is closed for renovation, we walked to the Hilton 3 blocks away for breakfast, although they did offer room service at the 21C. We considered using the room service option but the rooms had no menu. The desk and valet were staffed by one person each so there wasn’t always anyone to ask. That said, the valet on the evening shift was helpful and sweet and the person at the night desk quickly resolved our room issue when we called about the toilet. They did have a bar in the lobby in the evening and a coffee urn in the morning. I suggest that they have a cafe with coffee and pastries in the morning as well as drinks at night.

Penguins

Shower head / water pressure was horrible. Closet ceiling had a moldy leak stain. And worst off was no breakfast available due to renovations. Value for room was just not great at all. Asked front desk for a credit for no breakfasts but TBD if that is actually coming or not.

Beautiful hotel. The art was a very cool aspect of the hotel. The room was a bit disappointing though. Our shower leaked horribly and the controls wouldn't go colder than "still quite hot". For the price, you expect it to function properly.

Stayed here many times and have been pleased. Yet now, the restaurant closed for renovations and there are no accommodations for breakfast or most importantly coffee on Mondays and Tuesdays. If I'd known, I would've stayed elsewhere.

The hotel has a cool concept, and the renovations to the building were largely thoughtful. The rooms were ok, bathrooms were great. Overall was a 4 out of 5.

Location, room size and the Blue Penguins Air conditioning

The art gallery. No internet. No restaraunt. Really grumpy staff. Drainage in bathrooms miserable. No blankets in room. I could go on.

Disappointing

It’s in a historical landmark building so I get that it’s old. But the tile floors were pretty dingy looking. The corners in the rooms seemed to be overlooked when cleaned. Very convenient location to bars and restaurants. Staff was great.
