Kauai Inn

The owner and everyone who works there are so incredibly warm and friendly! We didn't stay long, but thoroughly enjoyed our time at this quaint and historic inn. The lush mountains in the backdrop, blooming bushes all around the property, and free live music + a delicious complimentary breakfast were some of our favorite things about it. The beds are comfortable, and the location is great. Fun fact: it's the oldest hotel in all of Hawai'i! Def recommend.

Convienent

Washer and dryer was something we were really happy to have since we were there for 12 days and they were broken for the whole trip. Definitely not a deal breaker. The hotel was awesome!! The breakfast def saved us a lot of money and was good!

Amazing views.

We had an incredible time at this hotel. They offer movie nights, complimentary breakfast, and even live music performances. They also provide free rentals like boogie boards, snorkeling gear, and beach chairs. The atmosphere is incredibly welcoming and the staff is incredibly friendly and hospitable. We’ll definitely be returning and highly recommend this place for anyone looking to stay in Kauai on a budget. The Mountain View’s right behind are also stunning.

From the moment we arrived, we felt completely welcomed and taken care of—all thanks to the incredible manager, Chris, who goes above and beyond to ensure every guest has a magical stay. What makes this place so special is its wonderful nostalgic charm. There is something so delightful and old-school about carrying around a real, physical room key instead of a plastic card! It immediately sets a relaxed, laid-back tone for your Hawaiian vacation. The property is practically made for families: * The Pool: Clean, refreshing, and surrounded by lush greenery, it was a massive hit with the kids after a long day of exploring. * The Breakfast: A fantastic, delicious way to start every morning without the stress of rushing out to find a restaurant. * The Live Music: Hearing local music played live on the property added the most enchanting, soulful atmosphere to our evenings. If you want a genuine Hawaiian experience full of aloha spirit, comfort, and character, stay here. We cannot wait to come back. We had a wonderful stay! The hotel is lovely, and we especially enjoyed having breakfast included — such a nice convenience. We also loved the cats and peacocks around the property! Everything is so green, beautiful, and peaceful. A great place to stay on Kauai! 🌺🌴

The breakfast had a large variety, baked goods (muffins, bagels), fresh fruit (pineapple, papaya), yogurt, cereal. They also have 24 hour coffee, tea, and water. They do have a laundry room, pay to use. Would come again!

For a family of 5 there are few places that offer single room options so we were fortunate to find the Kauai Inn. The room wasn't fancy but it was clean and there were lots of amenities we enjoyed like the fresh fruit and pastries at breakfast each morning (the manager would even come around and offer a flower to the ladies for their hair), 24hr ice, water and coffee, Mon and Wed night live music, free beach towel/snorkel/wakeboard rental, Sat movie night and super friendly and knowledgeable staff. Our only negative was the first night we arrived late via uber from the airport and were not able to walk anywhere to get food, we ordered a pizza and then had it cancelled by Pizza Hut an hour later because they didn't have drivers and couldn't get a doordash driver to deliver it -- no dinner for us that night. So it was a very convenient location once we got a rental car but unsafe to walk the roads at night into town due to lack of visibility and being somewhat isolated. We did walk to the beach and nearby shops just over a mile away during the day. I would highly recommend the Kauai Inn.

We are already planning our return. The property and staff are excellent. Love that they offer beach towels and all sorts of beach stuff to borrow. The location was centrally located and made it super easy to get to just about any destination on the island.

Kauai’s best kept secret… old Hawaiian, laid back charm. Gorgeous mountain setting. Twenty-minute walk to shops and restaurants. Staff was amazing and helpful.

Loved our stay at Kauai Inn, the staff were very friendly and helpful, the property is nice and tucked away from any business or noise but very conveniently located to airport, restaurants and stores. The pool was nice and they offer beach towels available 24/7 at the front desk. The rooms were beautiful and clean. Perfect size for a couple wanting privacy and to to unwind. The grounds are Lucious and green. We definitely will be staying here again in the future. We also did see kids so it looks very kid friendly. Ps light breakfast served which was really tasty and had a good variety for everyone!

The online photos were a definite oversell, though the view of the mountains were very beautiful. Its not a resort but it is centrally located to many things. The surrounding neighborhood is more industrial in nature. It is next to NCL parking spot for their cruise ships and the small boat harbor. The Royal Sonesta Resort is close by and the beach there is wonderful. Also Dukes restaurant and Hula pie is a must. The beds were firm and cushy just the way I like. Breakfast consisted of bagels, muffins, brie, cream cheese, and fresh fruit. Yogurt, cereal, milk juice and coffee or tea. (And of course chickens) They like to steal your food if you let them. The property could use someone with an eye for detail. Simple things that could be done or fixed are left unattended. Could be beautiful. The staff were all friendly and helpful and they will loan you beach items etc. If needed. I would return if price was right and a better value not found elsewhere.

The Inn seamed a little run down and could use so remodeling. The laundry was out of order. However, it was still very charming and I enjoyed myself immensely.

Our room was clean and quiet, well minus the roosters, but they are everywhere on the island. The Inn was comfortable. They have live music 3 nights a week. They have a really nice pool area. You really can't beat it. No resort fees. Breakfast every morning. Friendly staff. If you have a rental car you're close to everything. They also don't have a parking fee. You can walk to restaurants and bars about 15 minutes or so away. I would definitely recommend this place.

The staff was EXCELLENT! Kind and so helpful with recommendations. We really just needed somewhere to sleep at night, and our room was good for that. I wouldn’t say our room was dirty, but it wasn’t immaculately clean. Our only complaint was our bed, the mattress really needs to be replaced. Overall I would give our stay an 8/10!
