Kauai Inn

Nice island stay. The staff is friendly and provided good guidance for our daily plans. The property blends well with the island vibe. There are nightly live music/movie night. Good amenities are available. Family friendly.

One of my favorite things about the hotel was seeing the peacocks and roosters wandering around the pool and breakfast area—it really added to the unique charm of the place. The staff were very friendly, welcoming, and always willing to help. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, and the housekeeping staff changed the towels every day. While the overall cleanliness was acceptable, I think the hotel could improve the appearance of the rooms with a little more maintenance, and the bathrooms could benefit from more thorough cleaning. Overall, I had a wonderful stay and would definitely recommend The Kauai Inn to anyone visiting “The Garden Island.”

Friendly staff, quiet location, good breakfast, nice pool, nice backdrop

The staff was so helpful and friendly. We were greeted with the familiarity of old friends. The owner made us delicious char-grilled burgers while we were at the pool and the GM brought out the fun water games for my daughter to play with. There was a movie night on the lawn with popcorn. Highly recommend this Inn for anyone traveling with family looking for a low-key experience where you feel like Ohana. Plus they have very sweet kitties wandering around the property. We will definitely be back!

Free breakfast every morning was good and helpful. My kids loved the pool. There were a few cats on the property who were sweet and my kids loved that too. Chickens and a few peacocks came around in the morning from another property but it was really cool, the birds are friendly but have no boundaries. Our room was perfect for our family, 2queens and a twin. The staff was all very friendly and super helpful. The property is in a pretty quiet area. If we get to go back to hawaii we will stay here again.

Hotel room and AC were a little outdated but clean. Shower was good and breakfast was a bonus. We booked this room last minute and we're pleased with what we got.

My one complaint, and it did bother me about the property, is that it only had one washer available for the entire property, along with only one working dryer. If you book here, do your laundry before arriving or don’t expect to get it done on the property. If you are able to pull it off, consider yourself lucky. There is room inside the laundry room for two, stacked washer/dryer units and they should install these to be more accommodating to guests. As it stands, there is only one washer available and two dryers, but only one works. The other has an “ out of order” sign on it that looks like it has been there for awhile. Not good.

The pictures on the internet and reviews are very deceiving . There was no way I could stay in that kind of a place. The reviews are not correct . They would not even consider giving us a portion of our money back. I sat outside of the place to book another hotel. While we were there neighbors cars was reviving up continuously, management had to unclog a toilet only saw one other family of 4 in the pool. Was told it was too late to cancel or get any portion of funds back. How did I know that place would be like that run down, old, dirty, until we walked in and see the real thing- photos on the internet are deceiving- Totally not right. In my opinion this place is NOT a place to stay. I will post the current pictures and the real pictures of what the property currently looks like- we ended up staying at the Outrigger in Kauai for only 300.00 more than this place was - run and don’t book at the Kauai Inn. My only hope is the money that they took from us and would not even consider giving us a portion back- I hope they use it to fix the place up. Don’t let your trip be ruined by booking here!

This is a very unique hotel in Kauai-nothing fancy but very well maintained. Buildings moved from previous location many years ago. Location a little off the beaten path. Its located behind the Kalapaki harbor. Close to activities in Lihue. We have stayed there three times to start vac early and stay extra after main hotel location.

It's a great place with a great view, near to the airport and restaurants. Staff is very helpful. Love the activities that they have on Fridays and Saturdays for the guests.

Wonderful staff, historic property, great amenities, very well maintained, would stay again.

Just having that quietness felt awesome

Nice helpful staff. Hotel was in a secluded area next to a beautiful mountain. Not a fancy hotel but it’s clean and has everything you need. Cats, roosters, and beautiful peacocks walk around the property.

It was an awesome stay with breakfast,they have movie nights,entertainment and even a swimming pool and laundry facility.staff was awesome. They even give you a complimentary bottle of wine.it was just an overall excellent stay.rooms were very clean

We loved staying here! It was close to the airport and all things we wanted to do for our trip. It was especially nice to have a breakfast provided every morning and be able to borrow beach supplies from the inn every day, free of charge

Kauai coffee all day and cold water. Air condition rooms. Friendly Staff. Nice pool to wade in 3ft. Lots of places to sit and chill. We will be back.

Great place to stay!

We enjoyed our stay, but you should know what this is and is NOT. This is NOT a resort or a boutique hotel. This is an old, conveniently located, modestly priced hotel where you will be well taken care of while you explore Kauai. The staff are friendly, there is gear you can borrow, and you can supplement the continental breakfast by shopping and using the fridge/microwave. There is even enough hot water to fill the LARGE bathtub. We wished the air conditioner was quieter, and it's not the hotel's fault that the people in the park across the street were fighting one morning. Just get in your car, get out of Lihue to see this amazing island, and rest up in a nice room in between adventures.

Excellent price for location near everything. They have all the basics like fridge, microwave, breakfast included, and pool. I came with family and it was perfect. Most of the time you will be out of the hotel doing things, so there is no need to spend a lot on the resorts. The staff was excellent and we would stay there again.
