The Royal Sonesta Kaua'i Resort Lihue

Great beach for kids that love waves and boogie boards. Hotel itself is ok. Clean room (cleaning service only every other day). Parking is not great. Food is ok not great. Pool is nice. Hotel is near airport and Walmart. Would I stay again? Probably not but would go back for the waves? Because that was my kids favorite part of the vacation.

Excellent for families and couples alike.

I love how everything was clean and pretty, my only complaint is that our shower got clogged and we had to pack all of our staff to be moved to another room, in which the people that helped us where amazing, but you know when you go vacay you don’t whant to be switching.

Other than that, I give everything else two thumbs up. the onsite restaurant food and drinks were delicious, with healthy options. The location in the bay was wonderful and right close to outside chops and food. I would stay there again for sure.

Exceptional

The pool and beach are awesome with great views from the balcony. The places to eat are great and within walking distance. Be aware that there is a $45/day resort fee + $30/day self parking fee that is not included in your package, so plan on a bit more than what you initially paid.

Beautiful resort with balcony view of the bay and ocean. Rooms were cleaned everyday. Food was delicious in all of the restaurants. Pool was fantastic, Beach area and view was phenomenal! The only thing I can say I was disappointed about was, my new wife and I didn't get a Lei when we arrived. Everything else was absolutely perfect. Great stay!

Hotel staff not the friendliest. Woman that took my call for a request was not hospitable and unhelpful. I Requested our two rooms to be close and they put us at opposite ends of the property. Grounds are beautiful. Rooms are tiny and very outdated.

An amazing experience

The hotel is beautifully labdscaped and maintained. As for the room, its a normal quality hotel room. House keeping come every other day. If you need more towels you just need to ask, and a microwave is available upon request. Two things I had issue with, one the noise from the pool was sometimes too loud, our room overlooked the pool and the kids pool. If you want a quieter stay I would chose a room overlooking the garden. The second issue was the children running back and fourth in and out the sliding glass door on the floor above us. Issues did not ruin our stay, just a little bothersome. All in all it was a great stay, how could it not be, we were in Kauai!

The room was cleaned every other day and the maintenance was poor.

The room was advertised as an ocean view, king room. You couldn't see the ocean from the room unless you were on the balcony. Very deceptive especially for charging $650.00 per night. All you could see from the room was the pool. I feel that I was ripped off.

We had a wonderful stay as a couple there. We enjoyed watching families also enjoying their stay. The pool and property so spacious and relaxing. It was very well worth the price point. We enjoyed the art gallery very much. We will return.

My wife and I were here celebrating her birthday! Everything was beautiful and the experience was by far the best. We will be coming back with our family!!!
