-
Nice place to stay for a park and cruise.
-
Nice and comfortable

Did not like location at all. Nothing in the immediate area. Went to a CVS with a guard at the door and mist items behind glass partitions. Think that says it all. Would not recommend.
-
My flight was delayed and they didn’t let me get a refund on the night .

Rooms were comfortable and spacious. Very quick and simple food service at the bar in the lobby. There’s healthy options too. Showers were everything!

The location walking distance to multiple fast food locations - grocery story and CVS super helpful . The light rail nearby to get towards downtown area also walking distance . I took Lyft to nearby places for very quick service generally 5 minutes wait. The immediate area outside of the COVE is not upscale . However via transportation you are minutes away from Airport - Shoreline Village - Convention Center . The landscaping of palm trees and tropical theme was relaxing . The other guests I met from out of state and other countries were friendly . Outdoor seating area and an onsite bar open evenings made the poolside experience relaxed . Their fruit smoothies made by Fran were great .

On websites about the hotel it lists free continental breakfast. I asked about breakfast in the hotel when we got there and was told breakfast would be around the corner of the lobby between certain hours and could be purchased. There was no breakfast option available in the morning. There is a McDonald's next store, which is an easy walk. The area where this hotel is located is not the best. It is in an area where there is a lot of police activity. As we were a block away from the hotel, the police were frisking someone on the sidewalk. After coming back from dinner the first night, multiple police cars were in the Church's Chicken next to the McDonald's. I went to turn on the water faucet on the bathroom sink and hardly any water would come out; very low pressure. They charge $15 per night for parking and have no security. We could have parked directly behind the hotel without any charge. To be fair, we were told this when checking in. The next time we go to Long Beach we will stay at a different hotel.

It was all and all a good hotel, but if booking through Expedia do not use a different card than the one used to reserve the room despite being told you can do so. I was double charged on both my cards and this hotel has no records of the transaction on one of my cards despite it being from the exact same routing number as the card I paid with upon arrival. I now have to jump through so many hoops to get my money back to me because "no one has any history of this transaction"

We are trying different hotels in Long Beach as our son will be attending CSLB. The Cove looked interesting through their photos on line. The hotel seems to be primarily utilized by people/families going on cruises out of San Pedro harbor. We stayed 2 nights. It’s located about 17-20 minute drive from CSLB. A bit farther than we thought. On the positive side it has top of the line Electrify America charges. It has a nice pool and outdoor seating. The rooms look as if they’ve been through a refresh recently. On the downside: The beds/mattresses seemed worn and very squeaky. The neighborhood is a bit run down with quite a bit of homeless people wandering, but the hotel seems vigilante about them. They are in close proximity (walking distance) to a number of fast food restaurants and a Starbucks. The cost is extremely reasonable as that is why it seems to be a cruise jump off. We will keep looking for a hotel that fits our needs a bit better.

Property was clean and the staff very professional.

I liked the room. It was clean upon entering and had no foul odors. I didn't like that the outside smelled funky. Also, when I walked in, it smelled like overbearing cleaning supplies trying to cover up a bad smell.
