Breakfast was the same both mornings.

I stayed at the Pine Cottage for 2 nights in August and the staff was amazing. We inadvertently reserved a room with a small shared bath that did not meet our expectations and the manager went above and beyond to upgrade our room and resolve the issue so we had a private bath. (Note that there was no mention of a shared bath on hotels.com so be sure not to duplicate our mistake.) The beds were very comfortable, and the breakfast was terrific. We also liked the location, very convenient to several great restaurants and a block off the main drag for a quiet and relaxing stay.

I had a wonderful stay and plan on coming back soon! Thank you :)

Lovely bed and breakfast. Not crowded so the bathrooms were okay for us but could see it being tough and tight had it been full.

friendly staff, they made gluten free breakfast for us, very thoughtful! very quaint and interesting and functional.

Clean and nice old house with good service. However, several rooms share a hallway bathroom and I hadn't realized this is what I'd booked, so read carefully before booking if you don't want a shared bathroom. Place is about a 10 minute walk to the dock, up a small hill. They will arrange to send your bags to the dock with enough notice. They had tasty cookies in the afternoon and breakfast was very good.

First, the staff was wonderful and Pine Cottage is charming and well maintained. The breakfast was good. Our bed was comfy, but very limited room to put personal items, etc. To be fair, we probably should have limited what we brought to the island but this was our first time there. Sharing a bath with other guests worked out, but gave me a bit of anxiety. Again, this was fully disclosed, so I need to be mindful of this next time I plan a trip. The late afternoon tea/coffee and cookies was a much appreciated treat!

This hotel was convenient to reach once we got to the island. They also offer porter service to bring your luggage to and from the docks so you know your bags are secure until you are settled in your room. Breakfast and tea are served and the main level area accommodates a great number of guests, but there are plenty of chairs on the wrap-around porch to soak up some sunshine throughout the day. Great employees!

The location was great. Just far enough from downtown to avoid the crowds but close enough to enjoy the harbor. Sharing a bathroom with the entire floor was difficult. Bathrooms were very outdated and showers felt claustrophobic. Not worth the $475 per night spent.

We enjoyed our stay here. Breakfast was hot and delicious. All of the staff members were kind and helpful. Everything was clean. I was a little hesitate to book our room because of the shared bathroom situation, but it was never an issue. One was always available when we needed one. The afternoon tea and cookies were a nice touch. The room was well air conditioned (which was appreciated), though the air conditioner itself was just a little noisy. It wouldn't deter me from staying here again, however. Highly recommend!

First of all, the island is amazing and the staff here was great. The check in was easy and our room was really nice and the soaps, towels and things you need were all first class. The property is old, and thats ok, as it gives it charm. We travel a lot and so we would likely not stay here again because of a few things we found inconvenient. First, it is a traditional bed and breakfast, and while we had our own bathroom(some do not) the water pressure was very poor in our room. The room had space for a fridge, but they do not have them in the rooms, nor a "common fridge". The issue in a B&B is you want things to eat and drink after hours, and you need a place to store and cool them. We had to use ice buckets and a borrowed cooler to chill Champagne and keep cold drinks handy. This was a mess since ice melts. We also bought a great cherry pie, and the hosts do not leave out silverware, plates or napkins for after hours use. So after hunting, we went to the general store for forks used some saucers we found for pie! The next day we did request some utensils and they left us with some, but frankly they should have some basics available. The breakfast is very basic, mostly casseroles, with no labels, not great for allergies! For those of us on a diet, we could only eat yogurt and boiled eggs. We wished they had at least scrambled eggs and a meat option daily. All in all, greta trip, great stay, great staff, but left us a bit short for more stars.

Such an amazing place to stay! Location was great, staff so friendly, room spotless. I loved the rocking chairs on the deck.

walking, biking or carriage riding outdoor to each indoor activity which might last a brief time. We were advised to remain indoors the following day if possible due to the air quality high count, only go outdoors where necessary. NONE of the air quality was the b&b’s fault; however, the hotel only offered a very small parlor with a two-cushion couch and two chairs or the broken bed in our room as a shelter from the smoke. It was “tight spatially” in the room - you step into the room and barely have room to get to the bed. (We are avg sized people at #160 each.) We chose to check out early the following morning. We did speak to the hotel, and given the broken bed was reported at checkin, they refunded the cost of our second night. We would return to the island but not likely the b&b.

The staff was wonderful. The room was clean. Locations was great. Breakfast was decent. Overall I would definitely stay here again! Caroline was very helpful and quick to answer any questions we had. If you’re hesitating to stay here.. just book it. :)

Adorable room, helpful staff. Perfect getaway. Will definitely be back!

Pine Cottage was in the perfect location to enjoy everything Mackinac Island has to offer. The staff was really friendly and helpful!

This is a lovely property in a great location. The breakfast was very disappointing. There were no healthy options, mostly processed packaged foods. There was some kind of hot egg mixture each day but if you don't eat cheese, not so good. Fresh fruit options were limited.

Great location and wonderful staff.
