The lady at the front desk came across as having a bad attitude. The check-in process felt extremely outdated. There was no computer at the front desk. Instead, they checked my name from a handwritten list and asked me to fill out a paper form with my information. It felt like stepping back several decades. The room had a very strong, unpleasant odor. The smell was so bad that it gave us headaches. Also, there was no shampoo or body wash in the room. The tissue box was practically empty, with only two tissues left. Besides, the hotel charged me more than $11 above the price quoted by Hotels.com, so I ended up paying more for a very disappointing experience. Because of the unbearable smell in the room, we checked out after only one night. When I filed a complaint through Hotels.com, I was told that the hotel claimed I should have informed them about the odor and the missing amenities so they could address the issues. I found that response ridiculous. It’s like going to a restaurant, ordering a meal, and being served an empty plate, then having the manager tell you that you should have mentioned that you expected food. Guests should not have to point out basic cleanliness issues or missing amenities that should already be provided. This response suggests that the hotel does not understand the fundamentals of hospitality or how to properly treat guests.

From the outside it looks like a nice place, the room was clean but there were ants in the bathroom. There was a fridge in the closet but no microwave, the room was dark as there is only one lamp on the nite table. The room is sadly lacking ac outlets and no lamp near the table. We have never seen a coffee pot like the one there, when you pour the coffee it leaks out over everything, also there was only one pack of coffee, we had to go ask for more. Also nothing but powdered creamer, yuk! For what this costed for the night I expected more, the Quality Inn I stayed at in the UP was less money and was the best on this trip. I would not stay here again.

Great budget stay near the bridge and the downtown of Mackinaw City. You can get slightly discounted tickets for the ferry right at the hotel desk and there is a shuttle that runs you to the dock. The hotel was very clean, one of cleanest I've stayed in. Room was in a quiet corner of the property so it was nice not to hear elevators and other guests coming and going. Man at desk was super helpful and very courteous.

Only flaw was the room decor. It’s about 50 years past its prime. Rooms are well maintained just old looking decor

We booked this very last minute and were super happy with it! The room was very clean and it was just feet from the bridge and the fort! It’s a great location and the price was insanely affordable!

Location is excellent, staff very friendly, and room was clean and comfortable.

The location, the view and the staff were excellent! The coin machine was out of order and we were hoping to do laundry. It would have been wonderful if the laundry room, pool and rec room were open later. Our ac/furnace unit was pretty loud and clingy. Everything else was great.

Check in was quick and easy. The rooms were big and clean. And that view....

The man who checked us in was very welcoming and polite. Beautiful view of the bridge and water. Location great right across from the park. The high step to go up to get into the room, was a little difficult, for people with knee issues. But managed by putting hand on my car when stepping up and down the step.
