La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Macon West

I stay at this hotel almost every time that i come to Macon to visit. My son’s half brother is in Macon so my son and i come down from Michigan to visit. The hotel is close to his brother and also in a great location in proximity to local foods. The Chinese Buffett across the street is great. Amy was the receptionist during our stay and she was very attentive to our needs. She was very polite and suggested things for my kids to do during our quality time. The hotel was doing some remodeling so there were some areas that had some paint and things happening around but it didn’t cause us any issues. I pick my hotels based on them having breakfast because I’m a breakfast girl lol. The breakfast was good and the ladies at the breakfast area were friendly and chatted with guests which was nice. Most hotels the people that are refilling the food never talk to the guests and try to refill the food as fast as possible to try not to be seen. Everyone at the hotel was very friendly. Thank you ladies for making this a great stay for us.

The room was clean our only complaint was that it took forever for the room to cool down. The associates were very polite and nice, the breakfast was what you would expect for a hotel. We would stay again if it was on our route again.

We always stay at La Quinta Inns and have never had a bad experience, until now. Our bathroom was full of dead ants, they were all over the floor near the toilet and even on clean towels. The entire building felt very dingy and run down. If we were going to be here longer than 6 hours to sleep and it wasn’t midnight then we would have left. Awful experience.

I loved everything except the wi-fi didn’t work.

The overall upkeep of the property needed quite a lot of work walls, carpets, paint was indefinite need of revisiting. Conditions of the room were decent, although in my particular case the temperature controls were broken at the time. The knight manager when I checked in at 10:00 p.m. was fantastic. Very pleasant, and greeted customers exceptionally.

Issue with AC,

The staff was very friendly and the beds were comfortable. However, the hallways were hot and musty. The elevator was squeaky. The central ac didn't work, but the window unit worked well. The breakfast was decent, but the waffle maker needs maintenance.

Location was very good, it fit my travel plans. I checked out very early and the staff was accommodating to make a fresh pot of coffee. I've stayed at several La Quinta hotel for business purposes in the past which is why I chose this hotel for this particular trip. However, this particular hotel is dated and in need of refreshing. There are way too many smells from previous pets staying at the hotel. My dog never felt comfortable, especially in the hallways and even outdoors. The lighting in the rooms also needs to be brighter!
