The Woodward Hotel

In Downtown Never got email with room number and access code. Parking pass was missing too. Had to sort through that in rain upon arrival. Hotel has no staff or amenities.

Funky check in procedure but great location. Only real downside was the tv had no local options and all other stations required sign in protocols with passwords.

I absolutely loved the room. Even with a busy bar, we barely heard any noise, and we were right by the front door. It was super easy to get in. We loved how close we were to everything. The room was beautiful. I loved all the details. The bed was comfy, and the AC worked beautifully.

The room I had was nice and included a mini-fridge, keurig and some snacks. It was also right next door to a restaurant and several others were within walking distance. I would stay here again if in the area.

First, let's start with the good. The location was good. The room was well stocked, and I loved the shower gel. The staff at the Quill was very friendly also. Now the bad. We stayed in room 4. The split AC unit made a LOUD dripping water sound THE ENTIRE STAY (2nights) the remote control barely worked. The glass in the shower didn't extend out far enough and the floor got SOAKED each time we showered. The Quill bar was right outside our room, and yes they supplied ice for our room. However, it was an inconvenience having to wait on them to open to get ice. Also, because of wood floors we could hear ppl walking back and forth at all hours of the day and night. Lastly, the parking garage is small and very sus to say the least.

Good location and good sized room. Lack of house keeping, restocking of coffee and water bottles.

The location was great for walking around downtown Macon. It was close to restaurants, shops and a theater. The room was in an historic building where the character remained but the bathroom was nicely updated. The alley entrance to the parking was a little confusing and stopping in the alley to get the parking pass from the room was crowded with multiple vehicles stopped at the same time. Our room was right next to the entrance so we heard the lockbox when anyone entered throughout the night. Also, it would have been nice to check in before 4pm.

Nothing The location left me feeling unsafe and vulnerable from the moment I arrived. The parking garage is a dilapidated death trap with extremely low ceilings that made me fear for my vehicle. The adjacent alley was especially sketchy—on a Sunday it was littered with wandering vagrants and mentally ill individuals, and the overpowering smell made it clear it serves as the nearest “toilet” for the nearby square of restaurants and tattoo shops. The noise from people walking in the alley was extremely loud, and the view from my room of a boarded-up window on the abandoned building across the alley was just a kick in the butt. I would not go out after dark, especially alone. Entering the building was equally unnerving. I had to turn my back to the alley while standing in a tiny 3x3 brick enclosure just to punch in the digital code, with no way to see if anyone was approaching. Once inside, the only place to get ice was the “Bar,” which never opened during my stay. The room itself looked beautiful at first glance, and the bed appeared inviting—like a fluffy cloud—until I pulled back the sheets and discovered multiple holes that looked like they’d been chewed by mice. Thick dust and debris under the bed were so concerning that my allergies immediately flared up; it was obvious no one had cleaned properly in a long time. The Roku remote was covered in a heavy layer of gray dust, making it look nothing like its original black color, while the universal remote sat unused on the desk. The recently updated shower was the one nice feature, but the half-glass door failed to contain the water, flooding the bathroom floor and creating a serious slip-and-fall hazard. Before leaving in the morning, I even honked my truck horn to make sure no one had decided to sleep in the bed of my vehicle. Overall, Macon was a deeply disappointing stop on my drive to the coast.

Great staff

Our stay was so pleasant. We loved Quill and its staff. Obviously everything is automated, but I would have liked a responses to a booking question from a person also. It was an unlikely scenario to be repeated. I would easily stay here again.

It was in a historic district of downtown macon. It was very nice and comfortable.

Nice place. Don’t stay on the alley side 1st floor. Terrible garbage truck noise starting at 4:00 am.
