The Wave Manhattan Beach

It was a really good sized room and nice to have a fridge. I found the bed to be fairly comfortable but a bit noisy because it was mostly metal. That could be good in case bedbugs try to set up shop, though. There was easy, inexpensive public transit to LAX, nearby food stores and restaurants, and a nice walk to the beach and Strand. The room design looked quite nice but it could be planned better to avoid mildew from growing. The bathroom had some on the molding next to the shower. It smelled quite a bit so I felt compelled to keep the bathroom door closed with the fan on. An easy fix would be to replace the trim, apply Zinsser, and use silicon seal around the edges. The shower curtain should be weighted so that it doesn’t get blown outside of the ledge, which allows water to wick into the trim. Also, the sink should have a faucet that aligns with the drain hole. There is low water pressure, and it is impossible to use without getting water everywhere because it splashes on the inner rim of the drain and barely clears the edge of the sink. Little annoyances that will cause continued mold problems.

Everything fine. Personnel nice and professional. Very big, clean room. That's what we needed after route 66 adventure ride back to LA. Breakfast included.

Pillows were inferior - beds ok - requested noon checkout, told I would be charged late fee - parking used to be free, now they charge 10

Check in host was very helpful. Room was clean and very nice. Very roomy and a great price. Would definitely stay here again if I’m in the area

First time in California and honestly the location of this hotel was great. Parking was easy and the staff were helpful. My main issue with the hotel was that the drain for the sink smelled FOUL. At first I thought it was the water itself but it wasn’t. I poured some water in the sink and that foul smell started rising from the drain. It was so bad I almost threw up and opted to brush my teeth in the shower so I didn’t have to smell the drain anymore. I also had to kill a roach which thankfully it was the only one I saw.

Friendly staff clean rooms and the pool is big and well maintained with crystal clear water. Only suggestion is to get microwaves in the rooms. There is only one outside the lobby for guests to use

Ideal location 20 mins walk from beach Nicely designed rooms - however beds should be improved they’re very uncomfortable Uncomfortable rock solid bed impossible to sleep on. Could have been cleaner. Cockroach found Room cleaning involved replacement of towels every day, no bed making or anything else.

Mostly clean room, decent pool, close to shops. Not fantastic but adequate

The room smells a little bit the first night i checked in, but gets better when you open the windows for couples of hours.

The place was quiet. Good neighborhood. Waffles were good.

For a 3 star hotel it was decent. Def would stay for an overnight. Walking distance to market and restaurants
