River Hills Hotel

My door wasn't working when we arrived. I had to wait an hour in the hallway for the staff to fix my door. Walked into the room and there were dirty dishes in the dishwasher, dishwasher was broken, dog hair all over the floors and crumbs collected on my socks within my first 30 minutes of walking around, hair all over the toilet and in the bathroom, the room had not been cleaned, there was mold growing on the tile, the breakfast was moldy and I reported it to the staff, there was a large party happening down the hallway from us that were kicked out by 11pm due to them being very loud and obnoxious, dogs barking throughout the night in hotel rooms, the air conditioner and the heater in the hotel room smelt like burning hair, the sink had food chunks attached to it as well as the microwave. Our room was a complete disappointment. This hotel used to be a GrandStay and we've loved staying at GrandStay's in the past so we thought this hotel would be fine. However, when we entered our room we noticed the lamp shades had plastic liners that were cracked and falling apart, there was no drain plug in the bathroom sink and bathtub, there was an ironing board but no iron, one lamp had a burned out lightbulb, there was a light switch that didn't do anything and the toilet rocked back and forth when you sat down and stood up. On top of that, the kitchenette lacked a toaster, coffee pot, pots and pans, or a paper towel rack (all these items are shown in pictures online). To me, this does not make the kitchenette fully functioning as the website states. The bath towels in the bathroom were very small and hardly adequate. The entire hotel could use a good cleaning and painting. Needless to say, we won't be staying again.

Very few amenities. Not even plastic cups. Check in was good and breakfast was good.

Staff was awesome. Very quiet. Appreciated first floor room. Staff really got into decorating the lobby for fall which was nice and obviously hotel has done a nice update on lobby and breakfast area. But hopefully next they can work on updating rooms a little bit and really need to work on outside. Grass overgrown, parking lot in bad shape, sign old. It definitely made us question our choice when we drove up!! But again staff was awesome!

The staff went the extra mile for me and my family.. Very Friendly. The backyard is great for gatherings. They were there 24/7.

When we pulled into the lot, we noticed that there were a lot of weeds coming up. The front desk area seems fine and there is a free breakfast, although there's no decaf. I brought a swimsuit because I thought there was a pool, but it was not in service. There is a laundry with a billards room next to it, so you can play pool while you wait on your clothes to be done. The floors in the hallway were tile, but there was dog poop on the floor in front of a room near ours for two days. It was a till there when we checked out. There was carpeting and linoleum in our suite. The floors were sticky and stained. There was something crusty ground into the carpet in the bedroom. There were mud streaks by the bathtub. There is no coffeemaker nor a hairdryer in the room, which surprised me. One of our TVs didn't work, and a staff member was nice enough to come and troubleshoot until she got it working for us. I think this is a hotel meant for a specific type of traveler.

Staff was nice Room was sooooo dirty! My feet stuck to the floor so I mopped it, hand prints all over doors, handles, fridge etc. paid for a suite but there was NO WHERE TO SIT! Living room had no furniture and they didn’t have one to give me for the 3 days I was there. Mngt/owners were not present nor knew this was an issue when I checked in. I waited almost two hours to get into my room due to this.

The staff was very accommodating with respect to my Medical condition and need for 02. They helped carry my luggage and concentrator in, and kindly put me in a first floor room and near the door. I appreciated this much! Nice comfy room.

Front desk staff were very friendly and willing to go extra mile to make sure that my stay went well.

Staff was kind and did their best to help. In general seemed understaffed and not allowed the budget to fix things correctly.

We had some issues checking in- given the wrong room type but the staff was very quick to make it right. Staff was very friendly and helpful during our stay
