The staff was fantastic.

Hotel MDR is an old Courtyard Hotel that was nice in the 90's. Although it has been remodeled, the hallway carpet is stained and rippled. Our room was on the 3rd floor and the view was the back of a grocery store and dumpsters. The AC worked well. The beds were fine. The shower water pressure was weak and the water wasn't hot enough. The lobby bar was nice to have and the staff was friendly. On the 2nd night, my son was doing homework on his laptop that was due that night. At approximately 7pm, the power went out in the entire hotel. This included WiFi, lights, AC, elevators, etc. We took the stairs to get to the lobby and the front desk had no explanation or estimated time it would be resolved. We went to the nearby Starbucks so my son could complete his homework and submit it. We also walked to dinner at the marina. When we returned, there still wasn't power. As the front desk staff was handing out flashlights, the power was restored. The total time was 3 hours with no power at night in the dark with 80 degree temperatures. The next morning, trucks unloading food for the grocery store and trash trucks emptying the dumpsters behind our room woke me up at 5:30am. Our stay was disappointing.

Close to the airport in a quiet safe neighborhood. Plenty of food options in the area from affordable to pricey. I didn't eat any of the meals at the onsite restaurant but I can confirm that the bartender makes great cocktails. Try the banana rum old-fashioned.

Knowingly assigned me a room subject to constant elevator motor noise. Then assigned me to a room with a wet carpet under the A/C unit. This place is tired and worn.

Good place to stay in California

Excellent staff - rooms fairly dysfunctional - 2 small drawers for clothes, no drawers in bathroom for toiletries, make up, tv and remote are slow to change, peeling paint, broken handles, and hallway carpet stained and not taut so can easily trip, and the AC is not consistent - minimal food selection and mediocre.

The hotel MdR was a great choice for my birthday staycation. The room was nice and the beds and pillows were very comfortable. It was closely located to numerous Marina del Rey Restaurants and Venice Beach. I did like that you had the option to order breakfast or coffee for morning delivery. I would definitely stay at this hotel again.

Carpet in hallways is a major tripping hazard…

Staff were friendly and professional. We loved the welcome cookies and water bottles! Location was a bit sketchy

Lots of restaurants within walking distance. Close to the marina. Great burgers at the restaurant and the pool area was nicely landscaped with lots of areas for lounging.

A big thank you to the restaurant manager, Sergio, for going out of his way to accommodate us so we could watch the football game on the large TV. We really appreciated his excellent service and willingness to make our experience more enjoyable. The carpets in the hallways and guest rooms appear to be lifting in several areas and are extremely dirty. Their overall condition gives the hotel an unclean and poorly maintained appearance.

Location was quite well placed near to airport but a reasonable walk to go around the marina. Air conditioning made a lot of noise, not communicated that room cleaning although advertised as daily had to be requested.Swimming pool small for size of hotel. Limited choice on menu.

Staff was great

Lovely accommodations, very clean. The beds are also very comfortable. We'll be back!
