Great place to stay for a calm and relax vacation time.

The main downside was that our room had no working air conditioning for the first two nights. Getting help was frustrating, especially because one front desk employee was quite rude. When I requested extra pillows, she initially suggested that we share the four already on the bed among all four guests before eventually agreeing to provide more. It was a simple request, and the resistance felt unnecessary. One practical note: we were required to put down a $50 deposit for each night of our stay, so budget for that additional amount at check-in. I had not seen it clearly disclosed beforehand. The deposit is refundable, less any charges made to your room. The location and amenities made this an enjoyable stay, but more attentive and welcoming service would have made a real difference.

It would have been even better if the pool had stayed open later.

The front desk staff were friendly and helpful. The room was very clean and I loved that I could control the temperature. The outside spaces with hammocks and pool were nice. I loved that I could leave my luggage after checkout. I can't think of anything that could have been better based off of my stay.

The hotel is nicely organized with lots of outdoor areas to lounge. However my room had dozens of ants that got into the bed and luggage. I was only staying one night so I just left early the next morning. The staff also were not particularly helpful, as when I checked in they didn't notify me when my room was ready even though I was waiting next to the desk in the lounge.

The property itself was very cute. Loved the hammocks and stuff around the property for you to lay out and look at the stars. I will say I paid extra for a King (boardwalk) thinking that meant I would have a view of the boardwalk. But was given a queen room I’m pretty sure, as me and my partner both kept thinking this was way smaller then our bed at home. And a room with a view of the hammocks. This property is not even close enough to the boardwalk to see it from any room in the hotel. So I am upset about the upcharge for that. And there was some black mold in the shower but very little. Overall it was a good stay still and we would ultimately stay here again if we were in the area again. Parking costs are outrageous at almost $40 a night but we chose to do street parking and had no issue with that during our stay.

Well-priced by LA standards! We got a spacious room that was great for our bags. The staff was friendly and accommodating Although the location is good, it’s about a 15-min walk from the heart of Abbot Kinney

Always a serviceable, lively stay at the Kinney. I'm always here for business so haven't had a moment to use the lovely pool and hot tub, I can see the guests enjoying themselves - couples, solo travelers, and families. Location, staff, grounds all provide excellent value. I'd say you don't get what you pay for. You get more than that at the Kinney

Cons: it’s an old hotel that has been redesigned but not really updated. Small rooms, tight spaces. We were there during a heat wave but the ac didn’t really keep up with cooling the room. Pool area was very small and limited/no pool chairs. The hotel is fine, for us we prefer a bit more space and I guess just a newer built hotel. I think the hotel shows a lot better in pictures than what it does while you’re there.

The Kinney was a fantastic place to stay near Venice Beach! The location is perfect, and our room was clean, comfortable, and incredibly spacious. Every staff member we encountered was friendly and professional. We also loved the extra amenities—the pool area, ping-pong tables, and outdoor lounge were wonderful additions to our stay. Highly recommend!
