Walked up to the entrance and you had to manually slide the door open and shut it behind you. The second door was the same way. The staff was a hoot. I get to my room and discover that there was no refrigerator. The light switch for the bathroom was messed up so you had to jiggle it to get the light to work… The blinds were open, I pulled the chain to close them only to find that they were broken and was wrapped up over the top of the mounting point. I tugged on them and they fell down. The tv remote worked sometimes and sometimes it didn’t. Won’t be back.

Spartan but clean and staff very nice

Sadly, this hotel is not in great condition. The actual area where the beds are at appeared clean. The bathrooms have not been maintained well and maintained an odor. The hallways and areas outside of the room were dirty. Most corners have spider webs with bugs caught in them. Several spiders. Lots of dust. The day we arrived there was stuff (clusters of particles) of something floating all over the pool, therefore we never used it, and the gym was closed. In addition to this, the front doors were broken. We had to manually open and close the sliding doors. As well as the side entrance door did not lock. I was also unsure about the safety of the room door. Even when completely closed, lots of light came through the door because it wasn’t properly fit. The locks were also weak on the door. The hotel felt very unsecured and uncomfortable. I almost decided to make a 2.5 hr commute for the week. I only lasted, because I have a YMCA membership and was able to spend hours there and use their shower. This hotel needs lots of TLC.

Great location, close to places to eat and easy to get to and from.

Our first room was on the third floor (with no luggage cart) and the room smelled like weed and the toilet wasn’t bolted to the floor, so why I sat on it , it fell over. Went back down to the front desk, she gave us another room now on the 1st floor (which would have been helpful the first time since we were struggling with our luggage) which the girl at the front desk was watching us. She could have gave us the room on the first floor from the beginning.

Property is very dated and in need of maintenance. That said, the room was nice and clean and well maintained. When we arrived the bathroom light was out. It was repaired quickly after we reported the issue. Breakfast was better than expected, waffles, eggs, bacon, sausage, biscuits, muffins, fruits. Staff was friendly and helpful.

The first room we had had dirty sheets and dirty towels in the room. There wasn’t a remote for the TV. We requested our bedding, towels be changed and to get a remote. We were told no one was available to help with these things so we were moved up another room. The second room smelled smoky, the AC worked intermittently, there were no curtains on the windows. Very disappointing experience. The front desk lady was nice but could not provide any assistance with issues stated above.

Very disappointed in our stay at this Comfort Inn location. It appears they are transitioning from or to a different name, the front “automatic “ sliding doors were not working with a sign to do it yourself manually. The only ice machine that worked was on 1st floor, fitness center not operating, room not made up or trash emptied , clean towels until we mentioned it. Blind/ shade in room inoperable. The room’s bathroom is immediately as you open door and they place a door stop on the floor in front of the vanity and its constant toe stub!! Asked about returning in after pool use because room key didn’t work and was told to put a rock in the door to hold it open😳 The breakfast was not available one day because someone called out that day! The old carpet they pulled up is stacked out back. The stairways were filthy. If we hadn’t prepaid we would have gone elsewhere ! I do not recommend this location!!!

Friendly

The location was near restaurants and stores. The hotel was very outdated. The automatic doors didn’t work. Every time I left the hotel there was nobody at the desk. When I arrived to check in the desk person was sitting in their vehicle outside. There was mold and black stuff around the bath tub.

Rooms were clean and the bed was super comfortable. Staff was very nice and welcoming.
-
The automatic doors to entrance was broken. There was a shortage in the lights aroung the sink. There was a shortage in the electrical socket on the wall next to the bed closest to the bathroom. The toilet overflowed on the 2nd night of the stay at 11:30 at night

They need to tear the place down

Lot of poor maintenance...curtains in the room did not work. Front door did not work.

POOR breakfast: almost burnt sausage daily, cold biscuits, few choices. At least there was a friendly, professional front desk staff. I could not cancel my stay because it was booked months in advance.

One of my favorite hotels

Front desk was helpful during check in. The property was safe and the bed was clean. Shower and bathroom were not in good condition. Our room door required effort to fully close and lock. The front doors of hotel were not operable (you had to manually slide them open and closed).

Martinsville comfort inn says 6.7 rating on Expedia, but online shows 2.8 or lower. 1st room 200 was a wreck, stains on bedding and walls, doors noticeably damaged/paint peeled off, furniture broken w/ a door/drawer hanging off & window shade broken. Moved to 2nd room 324 at 1245 AM - same stains on bedding, paint damage, + electrical outlet hanging out of wall. Then moved to 3rd room 328 - same stains on bedding, peeled paint + light shorting out, + plus smoke detector was missing from wall (just hanging wires). Hotel needs a full remodel; replace all furniture mattresses, and needs all new linens/bedding towels etc. They should not be an option on Expedia in current condition definitely not a hotel i could recommend
