Because the hotel put me, as the guest, in the position of having to prove a negative, I had a rack my brain to think about what could have caused this. The article suggests that hair product combined with using a hair dryer and flat iron have given many false positives on these devices, which is exactly what my gf was doing during the time period on the violation report (something I did not think of until reading the article). The Sagamore not only has a terrible policy of believing its detector is infallible, but also failed to follow through on its own policy of providing a folio upon checkout so that I could dispute the charge. Avoid the Sagamore at all costs.

Great place to stay. The property and staff were amazing. A must see!!

I went back to the lobby and asked for another room. I was told one was available but it was being cleaned and would be ready by the usual check in time of 4pm (we arrived around 1pm). We were told we’d be given the upgraded room at no extra charge since we were celebrating our anniversary. We checked back with the front desk around 4:30pm and it was ready. The room was a lot nicer, bigger and also had a balcony facing the garden area. We enjoyed our stay. Overall, it was a comfortable stay and we hardly ever heard those in neighboring rooms. The staff were great and everyone was very friendly and helpful. I’d like to give a shout-out to Gerry on the beach and Mickey at the pool bar, who were exceptional. The grounds were nice and clean. Overall, it was a nice stay and the hotel is very convenient to shopping, stores and restaurants. Upon checking in and viewing the available room, we determined it was not suitable, as there was a view out the windows of another building being constructed, with graffiti on it. Also, the vent by the front door was leaking water on the floor. The rooms are a bit dated and need some upgrading, paint chipping, cracks in the tiles and bathtub area. The vents were dripping condensation in the new room too especially when we had it on lower temps so that seems to be a common thing. Also, the TV in the bedroom had white dots burned into the LED screen. We told the front desk and they sent an engineer to look at it but he couldn’t do anything about it. The TV just needs to be replaced. The outlets need to be updated, they all had slow charging ports and the sockets would fall out of them easily. I also wish the restaurant in the hotel stayed open later, they were only open until 3pm, at which time they switched to room service until 11:30pm. Or you could order food along with drinks at the bar area until around 6pm-7pm, depending on how busy they were and long they stayed open. The smoking area was in the garden, right next to the pool which sometimes if you were in the pool area, you could smell it and we also saw some who were vaping in the pool area too, which was annoying especially for me since I have asthma. Upon checking out, I was given my folio which had an incorrect charge for vehicle parking. We did not have a vehicle during this trip. I told the front desk representative and showed her the receipt for the first day when my brother dropped us off, which he stayed for less than 3 hours and I had paid the rate stated for under 4 hours, which was $27. She took the charge off. The paint in the hallways is very dark, could use something brighter.

It is modern and with plenty of beautiful artwork throughout the property. The staff was the nicest most helpful ever.

The convenience of the hotel was great and allowed me to be close to many stores. The room looked old and needs to be updated. The bed was very uncomfortable and the bathroom tup was very slippery.
