Hilton Garden Inn Minneapolis University Area

Great optin close to U of M medical campus. Could use a bench or seating area near the main door so you can see when someone is there to pick you up

This hotel has been neglected and poorly maintained. The ceramic tiles in the elevator are broken and loose, and the carpets in the hallways and rooms show excessive wear. The bedspreads are frayed, and the showers have significant mold and rust. The shower heads are caked with rust. Despite staying here for years due to its proximity to the University medical facilities, the past nine months have seen a severe decline in the property’s condition. It’s evident that it’s not being properly cared for.

They have hidden fees that they don't tell you about. It's an additional $30 to park there that's not included and the garage is tiny. Don't drive a truck!

The breakfast was not available most of the time we were there, they said because of staffing. Also the bar was not open most of the time, I met some friends while we were there and we were going to meet at the bar to catch up, and no dice. Finally, they say that they clean the room every other day, and we were there for four nights and they never cleaned the room. I had to chase down the maids to get some towels and get the trash emptied after a couple of days. Overall the hotel is clean, for easy things the staff was friendly. When the tv went out in the lobby, the desk person turned on the TV in the closed bar (which was supposed to be open) so I could watch the Monday night game, so that was nice. The location is good if you are going to Gopher games, which we were. And it is close to the U om MN, which is nice.

Location to stadium was excellent Pool and hot tub nice Offerings for breakfast on Sunday was Non existent. No syrup no buffet no omelette additions (meat, vegetables) Saturday was limited also but not as bad.

The parking can be hard to access and is quite limited. If you book on a busy weekend you may be parking down campus from the hotel.

Great place would stay again!

Great place to stay for gopher football.

Bathroom shower had long hair all over in it. Hot tub was in now working condition. Charged for parking when there’s not much for another option if you’re driving. Unable to officially check out due to needing a key to get into the parking area.

No water for purchase anywhere. Limited "vending" options. The in-house Starbucks had nothing besides coffee because the steamer was broken. We were directed to the on-site parking (at 10:30 pm) only to find it was full and difficult to navigate out of in a large vehicle with no where to turn around.
