The location, but the hotel needs updating.

Very old, poorly maintained building. The first room I was in was so creepy. Curtains were old and yellowing, bed skirt sagging. Room was hot and muggy. I asked to change rooms and staff was kind and immediately put me in a better room but it was still old with damaged furniture. There was a portable A/C taped with duct tape into the window and a dirty box fan. This was an upgrade. The bathroom was very clean though. The doors have key entry that take 10 minutes to unlock because the door knobs are so old. Great location though.

Beautiful historic hotel. Enjoyed tge French quarter ambiance.

I am used to having a refrigerator in my room, but I honestly did not miss it because the atmosphere and character of this property more than made up for that small convenience. The courtyard was absolutely beautiful--a peaceful, picturesque space that really captures the charm of this unique hotel. If you appreciate historic properties, beautiful architecture, and a memorable experience beyond a typical hotel stay, the Malaga Inn is a wonderful choice. I would gladly stay here again.

This boutique hotel experience was really cool! I love the old charm. However, it’s unfortunate that they can’t keep up better with the property as far as repairs wise. I also did not like the fact that there was no water available to the guests. If they did have water (what the front desk person said) they would charge us $3/bottle. For what we paid to stay there, water should be free, but they did have ice. Every person who worked here was really sweet and kind. Met the owner in passing he was also kind. Lots of construction everywhere. It was a decent experience for the date of the hotel and it not having the fancy amenities like a newer hotel.

really unique place with the most friendly staff i have ever met. Forget about the big hotel chains, go for something different! Great bed, historic building and a great price! if I had known how nice it was I would have stayed another night!

The staff was so helpful when we arrived late. They carried our suitcases to the room and were so accommodating! We had a wonderful, comfortable stay and we plan to return someday aoon.

The bed wasn't level but pointed down from the level of your feet. There was about a inch and a half lip between the floor of the bedroom to the floor of the bathroom - wasn't safe as you could easily stub your toe or trip if you weren't careful. The area rug slide when you stepped on it.. They 'piped' in a scent somehow that was overpowering and awful after awhile. What were they trying to cover up?

The location, the beautiful trees, and the lovely courtyard. Close to convention center. My room was so run down. The baseboards are so dirty, the walls were beat up and needed painting, the TV wouldn't go off without unplugging it, the air vent in my shower was hanging down 2 inches and I could see into the "1862 building infrastructure," my shower curtain was moldy, the ice machine hasn't worked for 10 years at least, the bedskirts look to be straight from 1985, and the beat up closet had 2 hangers. Moreover, upon arrival, there was a random woman asleep on the couch in the lobby. I had to ring the bell to get an attendant to the desk...and when I asked the attendant why there was a woman asleep in the lobby....she "had no idea who it was." It did not sit well with me - honestly freaked me out a bit.

Beautiful building with lovely courtyard; excellent staff AC worked but was not cooling to our desired temp, found a drink can under the bed that did not belong to us...That was it. Everything else was great.

Nice place but I didn’t like having to climb through a window to get to the balcony

Beautiful and such a good price compared to nearby hotels. Memories where made the staff took kids on tour and they had fun ghost hunting.
