Monterey Surf Inn

Small room; overpriced. Lights in the room and electrical sockets didn’t work. I was told about the light at check in.

Did an amazing job at helping my family when we were in a very hard situation during the Cali roots festival .Very grateful to every single member of the staff. Clean rooms and access to all of Monterey within 5 mins in each direction. Great hotel for the price and a perfect place to stay as a traveler.

The parking lot design is awkward and annoying, difficult for some drivers to navigate.

The location is perfect. I could walk to a nice shopping center. And downtown, Cannery row, ocean view restaurants arejist a few minutes drive. Carmel by the sea is just within 10 minutes drive. It is a great value for the price.

Showed up Only 1 room available and it was prepaid by the way All they could say was “sorry” as a family member had to sleep outside in the van due to their negligence They refunded me one room but still … unreal

It was a good location for my stay. Staff was kind, and even got me checked in even though my flight was 4 hours late, and I arrived in the middle of the night. Bed, and pillows were extremely comfortable.

Everything was great

Very basic. Very small refrigerator and microwave Just 1 hanger on short rod. No extras but did the job. Bed was nice but a bit too soft for me. Hot water took awhile but once it warmed up it was hot. Coffee available only in office but a nice machine with options. Great location.

No coffee maker in the room but was available in the Lobby and avaliable within limited time.

Everything was good, except that was a little loud.

Everything was amazing but one thing was the shower pressure not sure if it was because of the water main break it suck so bad.

The hotel’s location is awesome. Hotel staff was great. They helped without question when our toddler had an accident. Would stay here again in the future

Disappointed in refurbishing.

Overall pretty good room, rooms were a bit humid and sometimes smelled weird, but it was very clean and employees were nice. Great for a budget trip.

Stayed for just the night. Good price.

I thought the place was cleaned well, minus the floor. Again, not bad overall, but the floor was sticky. We ended up using a damp towel to wipe the floor from the door to the sink. I am sure this is not a regular issue. It just happened to be so for our trip. The place has done a very nice update and I appreciated the friendly staff! We'll be back!

Easy check in and out for a one night stay. Bathroom door was broken but nice clean room.

How in the world can a hotel be allowed to rent rooms and not offer a closet where you can hang your clothes?????????????????

No hot water! Otherwise acceptable for a low end motel.

I didn’t enjoy the set up of the room as far as how close the bed was to the sink. The bedding had lots of stains and random hair from other guests. They did not have any extra amenities, such as a blow dryer. And I do feel that I got sick from staying here overnight. Air conditioning was hot/cold. Whoever slept next to the unit was cold and the other bed further away from the unit was warm. The staff were not too friendly. Parking was great. The price of the room was affordable, but I guess I see why.
