Garvey Inn Hotel - 小台北酒店, Monterey Park

The young man in the mornings has an attitude and is rude. During our arrival and check in, we had a hard time opening the door with the horrible cards they give for door access. We went to ask the front desk for assistance and he made a face showing he was bothered by the request. He then stated that we are lying. I asked him to come up and check for himself. He then said he didn’t want to and wanted to place a bet for a double deposit. To say the least I was upset but I went to try it again without him and this time I used hella force. The door opened. Almost broke my hand doing it but hey… it opened. I will never stay here again. PLEASE CONSIDER THIS FORCE FOR YOUR NEXT VISIT

The room was not big. But it was decent. Online says you can check in at 1pm. But regardless of what they may tell you via email, they won't let you check in until 3pm. The lobby had seats we could sit in while we waited. The best thing about the room was the shower. It's a walk in. Comfortable and the water pressure was great. Very strong! Maybe not so great if your're older or sensitive but I love it. There was no housekeeping, which was fine for us. We just left the trash bin outside and they emptied it accordingly. It's not the Hilton. But it was comfortable for us because we had no high expectations. There's no microwave in the room. But there is one in the lobby. There is a fridge in the room. No coffee maker. Towels are small so take your own. Cable isn't great. I just watched YouTube videos on my phone. 7-11 is across the street as are a few other eateries. It's a nice area. A bit far from the airport though. Close to the convention center which is what we wanted because we were going to the anime expo.

This is a very bare bones hotel. Fairly quiet and feels ok safety wise. Get to breakfast early or they will be out of most things. Only have two towels per room, no washcloths or hand towels- request more as you check in and you may get some if housekeeping is working at the time. No smoke detector in room and no security chain to lock. Air worked well, shower was dirty and had hair…I mean you get what you pay for. Only get one key per room and you are charged if you don’t turn it in- so don’t lose it! Close to Starbucks and McDonald’s so that was a plus! Location was amazing! Everything is about 20 min away.

It was okay. We didn't run into any problems. Everything was straight forward. There were cosmetic issues with the actual room but we didn't book it for that. Clean sheets. We thought it was good place to rest our heads. We never tried the breakfast we never got a chance.

Don’t ever book here. It is so ghetto, the bathroom and rooms are dirty. The door doesn’t even have a lock. Expect a lot of drugies

It was cheap. I got a late night rate. Plenty. It looks like they neither had a maintenance man: toilet paper dispenser: broken; shower rod: barely attached; soap/shampoo dispensers broken, torn up flooring, even the room numbers were off or put on with tape. Pretty shabby.

The room was big and spacious. The shower was a little too dark not like in photos. Staff was helpful. Remote control didn’t work.

The air conditioning unit was great. It kept the room nice and cool.

No había casi nadie de desayuno y no rellenaban las cosas no habían toallas y casi todo estaba roto en la habitación y la habitación olía todo el tiempo a cigarrillo y la alarma de humo dentro de la habitación me tocó quitarla por q cada dos minutos pitaba fuerte y decía low battery y no se porque no recomiendo para nada el hotel

got in room very bad order of mold or mildew chairs broken floor coming apart walls in bathroom falling apart only had 1 towel for 2 people called front desk asked for more towel their replay was no one is here to bring you towels call back in the morning. call back in the morning they said it would be 2 hours. after 2 hours call back ask again, they say I have an attitude!!! we will get you towels? so showered again with one towel 2 people second time. getting ready to leave knock on door guy has 2 towels. just hands them to me and walks away?? checked out 1 day early lost my money will never go back!!!

This was hands down the worst place I’ve ever stayed at. The staff were rude. My room was absolutely disgusting. I ended staying one night and leaving. This place was just horrible!!!
