Motel 6 Monterey Park, CA

Paid early check in fee for one day stay after communication with female representative at location. Checked in around 10a on 08/12. Immediately were met with contradiction upon arrival, as another male representative working in the morning exceeded the complete opposite of what was already planned. First I was told I can’t do early check in because no rooms were available, and to wait until 3p. I told the new male rep I called in the previous day to which the female rep on site stated I need to book through Expedia and pay early check in fee, so I can have a room upon arrival in THE MORNING not at 3p. Male rep stated “there’s nothing we can do no room is available” to which I asked for a refund since the room was near 150$ for single bed one night. The male representative suddenly had a change of heart, asking if I urgently needed the room and if I was only staying one day, to which I agreed confirming I do graveyard work and need the room asap. I was instantly given a room key after the fact. Upon going to the room, multiple problems were immediately noticed. Firstly, room was very stuffy with stale odor, bathroom had few towels no wash cloth, repackaged used bar of soap, and sink had only one gage, being the hot option with the cold gage option broken off. Room also had no microwave like promised in reservation, and no tv remote to which I had to request after my check in, causing more delay in settling in. Attempts to change/ extend to another room were denied. 1 star.

This place definitely helps out in a pinch if you need to spend the night somewhere at the last minute, as was our case. Our landlord let us know that the water was shut off due to a leak, and we had to find a place at the last minute.

Zero accountability and not helpful. Love seeing mold, bugs, and sleeping in a hot humid environment with such. We got sick from this stay

Al llegar nos dieron una habitación que no servía el aire acondicionado sin embargo después de insistir nos cambiaron a otra habitación, en general el lugar refleja el precio , pero la limpieza debería de mejorar muchísimo , mis hijos daban unos cuantos pasos y sus pies estaban negros como si hubieran caminado durante horas , en fin estuvo conforme para pasar la noche

Toilet didn't flush, no blankets, cockroaches. Fine when you need a cheap room, but I wouldn't stay long.

The room was spacious and very clean. You could tell the property owner is taking care and putting money into the property. Side of town was sketchy. Fire alarm was missing.

Dirty rooms TVs didn’t work but atleast the WiFi did. If you have $30 extra to spend for a night please do it it’s worth it

Location only As soon as we opened the door we saw tons of tiny cockroaches running across the floor, walls and bed. I lifted the mattress and saw tiny bugs that appeared to be fleas or bedbugs. The room smelled like raid. It was diagusting!!!! We immediately left and requested a refund and the owner has yet to repond! Stay away from this s hole

The AC was loud enough to drown out the sound of the tow company that was 24 hours operational next to our room. The floor wasn't swept or at least clean in our room. The bathroom had two roaches (water bugs). One in shower and one in sink. The T.V. didn't work for our room, which the staff told us at check in. He also told the same to the person who checked in ahead of me and behind me.

The room wasn't very clean; the bathroom area and the space under the sink were in bad shape—there was something broken, and the wall next to the table looked like it had been patched with spackle but left unfinished (it was just a white smear). Also, the office staff had a bad attitude; I asked for two keys but was only given one. I would have been willing to pay for an extra one if that’s what they wanted, but the person just ignored me. Later, I went back to ask about nearby restaurants and mentioned the key issue to a different staff member, who then gave me a second key. The next day—around 4:00 PM, since no one had come by to check if I needed anything—I needed toilet paper, sheets, and towels. The office staff member told me to go to another room to get towels myself. I found that really strange, considering I’m paying for services like fresh linens, towels, and cleaning. They didn't even take out the trash; I had to put it outside my door myself on Friday. On Saturday, I told them I wanted to stay another week but in a different room, and they refused, saying I had to stay in the same one. But the room was dirty—I even found cockroaches inside and took photos. How could I possibly keep that same dirty room without even getting fresh bedding? They refused with a bad attitude. Honestly, I’m going to call the Motel 6 corporate office to file a complaint. Everything

I had the worst experience here. I went to check in and the guy at the front desk said my reservation was there but hadn’t been paid. He said Expedia had taken the money from my account but hadn’t sent the funds to them. He said he canceled my reservation and would have no trouble getting a refund. He said I would have to pay out of pocket. I gave him my card and conveniently their card machine was down and could only accept cash. I knew that it felt super sketchy. He said I could use their atm machine to pull out the money. I ended up doing that and paid him $100 ( on top of the $117 I already paid). I’m so disappointed. I still haven’t been refunded the amount. Expedia has tried to contact management and they have not responded. So note to self if they tell you to pay in cash don’t do it!

The quietness of the facility The room had faulty fixing. Light bulb did not work. Toilet tissue holder was broken. Water damage on the bathroom ceiling/vent. We found 2 Vernon running around the room. The sheets need bleach and sanitation. We didn’t have enough towels in the room. The outdoor facilities had a horrible smell. Told the staff and they did not care
