Hilton Garden Inn Montgomery East

We arrived at the hotel to discover that our reservation had been moved to the Homewood Suites by Hilton next door because a local college had booked the entire building. We were not notified about the change ahead of time, nor apparently was Expedia since it requested we review the Hilton Garden. When I informed the hotel desk clerk that we had not been told, she feigned concern and waved us away to next door. The Homewood room was larger but more expensive. It also was badly in need of renovation of its bathroom, kitchen and noisy A/C. The staff at Homewood was nice. My 1 star for service is for the Hilton Garden’s non-sympathetic clerk.

I had expected a lot more from a Hilton and the price paid. First, they were not ready for check-ins at 3pm because of a system crash. People had to wait until 4pm to be "manually" checked-in. Given this, I guess, I did not get the suite I had reserved, but a two bed queen room. In one bed, the sheets looked like they had possibly not been changed. The other bedsheets did look clean but the white duvet cover had a large old yellow stain on it. I cringe to think what it was. Surfaces were somewhat wiped down, but could have been better. Considering the long line of guests being "manually" checked-in at the front desk, I decided to just make do. It was just one night.

Secluded. The pool outdoors has no shaded protection The pool has no shaded protection. Water was extremely warm.

No cups, towels in fitness room. Breakfast was only one item

Nice hotel … most expensive one we stayed in during our cross country trip. They were the one with the least. Only 2 towels in the room, breakfast not included, pay extra for everything.

The staff provided excellent service. The breakfast was absolutely one of the best I’ve ever had at a hotel, great location.

We had a wonderful stay at the Hilton Garden Inn in Montgomery, Alabama. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel welcome. Whether we were checking in, asking questions, or simply passing employees in the hallway, everyone greeted us with a smile and genuine kindness. The customer service throughout our stay was exceptional. One feature we especially appreciated was the guest laundry, which was incredibly valuable during our road trip.

The service was absolutely excellent from the beginning of the stay to the end. The breakfast area was very elegant, the food was delicious. The locations of the area was very accessible to stores and restaurants. We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely come again. I will rate it a 10 out of 10!
