Palms by the Beach Motel

No working TV. Outside Nasty. Across the street from the beach, not ON a the beach. The man who checked us in was super weird. He made a comment about my license photo looking like a photo he’d “see on the crime shows getting murdered.” Booked an ocean view room was stuck looking across the street at another building. And they never returned my deposit!! There were multiple damages in the room at check-in; including smoke damage to the toilet and sink, missing wall photos (hooks still there) It crossed my mind to take photos of these things but then thought no it should be fine WRONG! Worst hotel experience ever.

Air conditioner didn't work good in the main room

My husband That my husband was attacked in our room and Ms Maria put us out and called us drug dealers. She also said that my husband had no business trying to defend himself. What was he supposed to do when you don't have security.

Didn’t like it at all, they said they would give a refund back in deposit but never gave it back and we called about it and they blocked us from their website and blocked our phone number. I didn’t like anything about the property they have roaches the rooms weren’t clean the bed covers had burn holes in them and stains

For the price it was decent! The rooms were big enough for 6 people so that was helpful! It was overall cheap and the front office staff was nice but I believe there are people living there like full time which is cool I guess but a little strange like I was encroaching on their space and I didn’t love that but overall a great deal . There were no bugs so that was also a huge plus! All this to say for the value it was nice enough!

The staff was friendly and helpful and the room was clean and comfortable

The room had 3 beds and a full size refrigerator. Could have used another air conditioner in the front room, but it was exceptionally hot there.

Location The man at check-in was rather rude, and having to ask for towels, washcloths, and toilet paper every day makes you feel like a criminal just for asking; the pool could use more attention, but otherwise, it was a good stay.

The rooms were clean and spacious and the beds were comfortable once we were able to sleep, but that was the only good thing about the experience. The temperature was 102 when we arrived and the air conditioner was turned off and we were on the top floor so the room was unbearable. We ended up going to Walmart to purchase a box fan to help cool it down. It was cool enough to sleep at around 3am. The staircases smelled of urine and cigarettes and the balcony had loose bricks that could be removed by hand. There were several fights to break out which lead to people standing out yelling and screaming and taking videos from the balconies. The smell of marijuana was so thick outside the room that that you couldn’t even smell the ocean across the street. We ended up staying one night and was happy to be leaving.

Some of the ppl were nice Shower curtain had mold, had roaches & refrigerator didn’t work food went bad, & blood on sheets and said she may have cut her leg but if that was the case why you didn’t clean it

What i liked that it was close to the beach didn't have to walk or drive far what I didn't like was that we had to ask for stuff if needed but other than that the area & hotel experience was good

The lady that checked me in was great and the housekeeper was great the rooms were clean. The only problem is the drugs on the property and the tweekers. Clean this up and would be a decent place to stay .

THIS IS NOT A HOTEL IS MOTEL AND A DUMPY ONE AT BEST, Dirty facilities, pool was gross, room was nasty and smelled bad, staff was nasty and rude, no towels or shampoo available, SKIP IT, spend a little more and sve yourself the experience..never again.

Close to the beach Parking

The staff were very friendly despite the issues that we had. Being across the street from the beach was great. Unfortunately, that’s the best I can say. We did not feel safe. There were clearly activities going on on property that makes a single mom and kid not feel safe. A resident they tried to get me to spend time with him in his room and another one looked at my four year-old daughter in a way that no grown man ever should. I understand that that’s what you get staying in a budget type place but if we had anywhere else to go, we would have left. Unfortunately, that was not an option. Also, the first room that we were put in, had a German roach. Both rooms had dead, Palmetto bugs which is understandable considering the proximity to the beach, but a German roach is not something I could deal with. Rooms did appear like they had been cleaned decently although grout in the showers was pretty disgusting. But as far as regular cleans, it seemed good and that’s coming from someone who cleans for a living. I do want to say that the staff was very quick in getting us moved to another room and they were very helpful, as helpful as they could be. The lady at the front desk also said that she was having pest control come in first thing Monday morning. But just the overall environment and the fact that there was a German roach makes it to where we can’t recommend this property to anyone else unfortunately. That being said, I don’t blame the staff at all for what happened. I think they truly are trying their best, German roaches are something that are nearly impossible to get rid of once you have them.
