Best Western Plus Marina Gateway Hotel

Room had many issues. The refrigerator was not cold when we first arrived which was of concern because our daughter has insulin that must stay cold. Drain for the shower would not stay open so it would fill the tub as you were taking a shower. Towels had visible stains from previous use. The outlets in the bathroom were not functional. Someone walked into our room without knocking or notifying us. The room was a great size but would not stay there again.

The hotel was okay.

Elevators were not working upon check in and staff refused to help me find accommodations. I have my disabled mother who can’t climb stairs took us 35 minutes to get to the second floor. I asked for assistance and was told that their was nothing they can do

This is the nicest best Western I’ve ever stayed at! The pool and garden areas were lusciously landscaped and the rooms were nice and clean, and the beds were comfortable, and the staff was pleasant!! great stay!!!

My complaint will be the time I was there. The elevator broke down on the 4th of July and we had to carry our ice chest down the stairway, and they only had one working elevator the whole time I stood there and also didn’t like I had to go pick up my extra blanket downstairs at the front desk nobody could’ve brought it up to us. Another thing. The AC wasn’t good enough. Our room smelled misty. I had to keep on opening the window. Overall it was alright not great. Things could improve I would say. But the staff was nice.

Stay was nice, decent room. Pillows weren't comfortable though. Glad I brought my own. Good location.

Property was clean and comfortable. The balcony suite was nice and big. Staff was very helpful and the pool and hot tub were clean. The restaurant that is across the parking lot has amazing breakfast

The elevator was not working, we had to use the stairs and to go up to the fourth floor oh well, but everything else was exceptional

Took a trip to San Diego zoo and needed a hotel for 3 nights. Glad I chose best western marine bay . First time staying at a best western and definitely will be coming back to this one again . Service was friendly and helpful . Very clean hotel and exceptional service.

Comfortable beds, clean rooms, great AC and a very nice pool.

We love the hotel! The rooms are beautiful and the location is great. We stay here every year and love the hotel.

Okay stay. Not bad. Did find an old deodorant tucked under the sink cabinet. This indicates they don’t clean too thoroughly. Couldn’t find some paper plates or certain items for purchase (very limited).

In addition, the toilet knob in the bathroom was not functioning properly and this was inconvenient. Overall, these issues significantly affected the quality of my stay, and I hope they can be addressed to improve future guests’ experiences.

I enjoyed my 4 day stay with family. The location is perfect and the restaurant in the same parking lot is perfect for breakfast be you start your day. The pool was heated and hot tub was nice and hot. I took my family to Sesame Place, Sea World and La Jolla Children’s Pool beach, which were all 16 to 30 min from the hotel. I will stay again.

Enjoyed the spa pool and liked that there was no daily housekeeping

Nice place to stay! It was clean and the bed was comfortable. The staff were friendly and it was a fast and easy check-in/check-out process.

Also they said I was supposed to get a text after check in from a person to see how everything was and for express check out- I didn't receive any texts, had to check-out normally. The hot tub was disgusting - it was green and had a bunch of dead flies and gross foam whenever you turned it on - it seems like it wasn't cleaned for a while. And to top it off, they were doing construction in the early morning - this was a WEEKEND, too. I DO NOT recommend this place.
