Best Western Plus Marina Gateway Hotel

This is my go to hotel when I return to visit family. Good location. Nice staff. Clean rooms & common areas. Pool and free parking.

Rooms were clean but the bed was super uncomfortable. Lots of noise from the club that is across the street from the hotel.

The room was very clean, the staff were very helpful. The location of the property was very good. Parking was excellent and we had great Wifi.

What I liked about this location was the accessibility to self parking and being close by to shopping, restaurants, and downtown San Diego. The water gets hot which I loved, but water pressure is not well at all. Toiletries are below average, so make sure to have your own to your liking. As a traveler I hope for comfortable beds. This hotel does not have that. The beds are absolutely horrible. We bought a mattress topper just for our stay to try and help make it a little better. If you’re a coffee drinker first thing in the morning, plan on making a trip outside of the hotel to get your coffee. The rooms do however have a Keurig so you can bring your own coffee and creamer! House keeping did not come in and clean, even though I asked specifically for daily cleaning and new towels. Staff is excessively loud in early mornings on the first floor ( that is where our room was located). Overall, I wouldn’t choose to stay here again. I’d rather spend the amount of money at a location that has better quality beds, breakfast and respectable staff.

Great property and we enjoyed the stay

I had a decent stay, though there were a few minor drawbacks. Because of the room's location facing the restaurants located in the same center, the live music from the venues made it a bit difficult to rest before 10 PM. Also, being near the emergency exit, I noticed the door didn't quite close securely. If you are a light sleeper, you might want to request a quieter room away from the street.

Great place to stay. Room was nice and clean, beds were comfortable and the hotel was nice as a whole great central location.

Staff was very helpful

Close to my job, the location is quiet and the staff was always helpful. Rooms were clean and wifi was decent. Not too much of a compliment there is a restaurant right across the street that gets loud on the weekends but by the late evening it is quiet. Not rhe hotel fault, still a good place to stay.

Exceptional

Staff were friendly. The beds were comfy. The pool looked dirty. There were unlimited hot drinks like coffee and hot chocolate. My kids and I enjoyed our stay.

The property has so much going for it. Fix the elevator and get one put in for staff!
