Courtyard by Marriott New Bern

The outdoor area is gorgeous! It would be nice if it was more of a bar/ restaurant not incorporated in the lobby, or if there was bar access outside.

Beautiful location and pool. The gazebo on the river is also a beautiful amenity. The hotel has gorgeous river views, and it is only a short walk to downtown and the neighboring park is very special. The Starbucks coffee served downstairs in The Bistro was a great bonus. The odor on the 4th floor was terrible. It was in the room and the hallways. We had to go buy air freshener to cope with the odor. The refrigerator did not cool properly and the room needs a Keurig coffee maker. The next morning, we did ask about the odor and the front desk staff said that an air conditioning pipe was damaged and flooded the upstairs and that the odor came from that. I'm not sure why guests were placed on the 4th floor as the hotel did not appear to be full. We should have asked for a new room, but we were afraid the whole hotel smelled the same so we didn't bother. Otherwise, the hotel was lovely.

Nicely located in New Bern. Friendly, helpful staff. Rooms were very roomy. We enjoyed our stay.

The staff was very nice as well as the pool. It is also conveniently located to restaurants, shopping and tourist attractions and free parking!

During my 3 days stay I was unfortunately faced with MANY issues. This place deserves to be shut down. Upon my arrival I was greeted with a front desk clerk that seemed nice and friendly. As we got to our room, it was a decent hour around 4 pm or so. I was greeted with a room that had a foul stench that smell almost reminiscent of underarms and perfume. I tried to not be to picky as that seemed to be the extent of the issues and otherwise seems clean. I went to the balcony to enjoy my view for a bit, which had a previous guests ash tray cup sitting on the ledge which as you can imagine is utterly disusting, while going to call the front desk to notify them of the issues, we were placed on a brief hold in which the sink had now stopped up and of course when we went to pull the drain....the entire drain stick came out. So the sink was now filled with water with no way to drain. After getting off of hold, I informed the front desk clerk of my issues requesting to be moved since we had only been in the room for about 30 minutes with several issues and she said the only thing that she could do was send maintenance up which could take anywhere between 15 min to 2 hours. As you can imagine this took up the majority of my 1st day. The issues never got better from here, from no ice in the entire building all weekend to the pool damn near hot and falling apart, the clerk's niceness and customer service went out the window as did much of my patience. Definitely not the Marriott standard

Situated on the water, with all possible amenities, great parking, beautiful pool. What’s not to like. Very comfortable and relaxing.

This property is nice, but shows a bit of age. Great location on the waterfront, friendly staff. The room was clean except for an unfortunate stain on the couch. The public areas such as elevators and stairwells needed some cleaning. The pool is very nice. Easy walk to the restaurants in the historic downtown.

This hotel and it's staff were very helpful to my wife and I during a very difficult time. Booked this hotel during my mother's funeral and they went above and beyond to accommodate our needs. 3 days straight our flights back to Rhode Island was canceled due to lack of an itinerary and all 3 times they accommodated our stay on a moments notice. Not only did we have to rebook the room, we had to rebook our rental as well. We became so well known to staff that it felt as though we knew them personally. Thank you all for making my wife and I stay as comfortable as possible. We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay, to celebrate my mother's homegoing.. you guys are the best. Highly recommended..

Our stay was perfect. Great king room with a balcony overlooking the river. Didn't feel like going out to dinner so ate at the Bistro in-house and were very pleased with the meal.

A one-night stay. Overall, everything was perfect. Pleasant staff and a good location. No complaints.

Aside from being a convenient walk to town, it needs more care and meet the price that they are asking. this is the 3rd time we have stayed there and each time is a different type of disappointment. most likely will not stay there again.
