Wingate by Wyndham Bronx/Haven Park

We checked in around midnight after an event. When I asked about the parking garage we were told it was closed and there was no attendant. I was not leaving my car on the road in this area. I told them I wanted to cancel and was told it was non refundable. I told her I didn’t care I was not parking on the street and that I specifically booked this hotel because it had a parking garage. Magically she’s able to open the garage and a parking attendant is there in less than 2 minutes just by simply picking up the phone. After we got to our room which was decent bathroom is a little tight and claustrophobic but it served it purpose. We went downstairs to see if they sold bottle water and she hands us 2 glass bottles with screw on caps and point’s to a tap in the counter where you can fill up the bottle. We took the bottles but never used them, it felt unsanitary. Next morning when we checked out the person was different and much more pleasant. When I went to get my car I was charged 30 dollar to park which was never mentioned. I don’t recommend this place at all personally.

There is a hookah lounge on the rooftop but you can't smoke weed:( bummer since it's legal) had to smoke outside in the street next to the bums and addicts. Not so cute. Parking was super reasonable. Great location if you want to go to a Yankees game, the bronx zoo, or little Italy. Walked both ways without incident.rooms are super small, but had everything I needed for 1 night.

Overall the property was fine. What was really disappointing was the $150 ($177+ with tax) “pet charge” for bringing our 15 pound dog. The notes on Hotels.com never mentioned anything about this charge, so it was a complete surprise to us. Almost doubled the charge of our stay and we would have left the dog with neighbors had we known about it.

Very clean, friendly staff. Loved the small details like the cotton balls and q-tips & mini dove soaps provided. Bed was comfortable! Bathroom door didn’t close the whole way but it wasn’t that big of a deal.

The staff at the front desk, and the restaurant staff were extremely helpful and polite. The linen was too thin

Food was very basic, and sitting out not covered. The food that was there was not refilled for the guest present nor were the tables clean. Guest room itself very small, bathroom and shower not really private( glass enclosed)

Love that the hotel is right off the highway with a little entertainment downstairs.
