The hotel overall was clean and looked like it was maintained well. We left around 5:30am, so we didn't take advantage of the breakfast. The vending machines take cash only. The one issue we had with the room itself, was the cleanliness. Bathroom sink was not draining and I had to adjust the stopper under the sink to get it to drain, when I was down there, I realized how dirty the floor was under the sink. Don't drop anything important on the floor like toothbrushes or mouthpieces :) It was pretty bad. the bathtub also was slow to drain...and we showered with our feet covered in our own shower water. The faucet at the sink also sprayed back onto the sink...I think the aerator was clogged up or something...but regular plumbing maintenance should've solved all these issues. Lastly, when I opened the closet, there was a used tissue on the shelf...not sure what it was used for, but gross. We were short on time and we didn't have the time to ask for a room swap or any other service requests. It was late when we got there and we had to get to bed because our plane left early in the morning. It's a great hotel, historic, well renovated, and a good location. The room issues are easily fixed with regular room details and maintenance. Temp in the room was perfect. Elevators were all working, clean and fast.

Room was clean

This was a gem in an otherwise very diverse area. Everyone took their job to heart - everything from welcoming you or wishing you a good day, to how well they kept the breakfast area stocked. They even had nice touches on their continental breakfast. I highly recommend this gem.

I got to my hotel and noticed during check in that the person at the front desk took a while to let me in. Then finally gave us a key and charged a facilities fee. When we got to the room few mins later we noticed the tap wasnt draining and then the tv wasnt working! And we called front desk we stayes in rm 316 . He said oh maybe thats why he couldnt find a room and thT room was blocked cause it was out of order . But he gave us anyways . We told the front desk and she took our info but never reached out. we asked for a facilities fee refund based on the situation . I sent a message on hotel.com till now no response . What a hotel!

The rooms were extremely spacious and perfectly clean

I found this hotel quite pleasant. The room was nice and very clean. The bathroom was modern and updated. I found the front desk staff helpful and accommodating. I was apprehensive about staying in this area but did not have any issues. I did not end up having breakfast at the hotel so I can’t comment on that. I would stay there again, very good quality without the high prices elsewhere in NYC.

The front desk team, especially Stephanie, was truly wonderful. We enjoyed a wonderful breakfast to start the day every morning during our 4-night stay. The staff in the breakfast area always made sure items were stocked & plentiful. The hotel was quiet & room decor was pleasant. Rooms were tastefully appointed. The housekeeping staff did a great job. I can't say enough.

The room was very clean and spacious. The breakfast was lacking in anything but bread and boiled eggs. Yogurt was an option. Very friendly staff and easy to get to subway.

This property is not in a good location, the closer my Uber got the more uncomfortable I felt. I was a solo traveler and would not recommend this location to anyone traveling alone who does come from a high intensity urban area. Upon arrival, the building had a distinct odor, although it could have been from the in-house breakfast but it was not a scent that I was familiar with. Expedia online pictures are deceiving.

My trip was going well. I got a comfortable room but the staff experience on the 23rd made it bad. During 23rd mid night I had severe food poisoning. I called the help desk and the gentleman to seek help, his response to my requests had an unprofessional tone & an insensitive attitude. All I asked him was from the first aid kit are there medicines for food poisoning available? Can a fruit be arranged because I lost energy due to water loss and vomiting. He was absolutely cold in his response. Somehow I mustered the patience to order from Uber Eats. Final nail in the coffin was when I went downstairs to collect my order. On my way back I crossed his desk and he didn’t have the courtesy to even ask, was I good. My problem is his uncourteous , unprofessional & insensitive attitude. Please provide a proper training to your staff members and take appropriate action.

Arriving to the property was very sketchy. Did not know it smack dead in the hood and drug infested area. Once you get settled in your room you’re fine. But, once you step outside just have your uber outside or go straight to the train. Especially if you’re not used to that type of environment.

The staff was incredibly responsive providing an early check in and followed up to see if we needed anything. Housekeeping each day is so rare, but they had it which was appreciated. The 24/7 coffee machine was a hit. Close to the subway and also a grocery store for amenities. Would have given 5 stars, but the neighborhood is a bit rough and we weren’t super aware of that when booking, but we had no issues night or day.
