Hot tub not working. Beer cans and leaves in pool. Very dirt sofa . I of 2 rooms had dirty toilet not flushed . Fridge in 1 room froze milk.
-
There were stains on the bedding, a bloody tissue under the couch, a questionable wet area on the carpet, and it smelled overwhelmingly like cat urine. We stayed about 10 minutes then left.

It’s the most horrible experience with bw Newport News rooms plain roches peoples has a bad attitude I’m really so sad and the break fast wasn’t good !!

The facility has went down in quality from the last time I stayed there in earlier 2014. Stuck with what was familiar. My room two rooms were changed twice due to the tv not having service and poor quality of the rooms. My first room had car air fresheners in the ac unit, poorly attempting the mask the smell in the room. The rooms had a very distinctive odor…not in a good way. Smelled like air filters needed changed, and walls and floors needed scrubbed. A lot of staining. The bathroom had some rusting parts in the shower, and shower had needed replace. I will say, you do get what you pay for, so with that being said, the price was fair. If you need a room in a pinch, this will do lol.

The bed was very uncomfortable. Seems to me this is a old bed . I checked with front desk to help. They suggested a different room why do I have a inconvenience to move all my items just because a bed that you expect to be comfortable. They refunded to refund at least half price. They refused . So I left very sad with this

I arrived at 6:00am in the morning and it was one disaster after another from having to clean my room from just driving an 8 hr trip and the TV not working to broken bathroom seats, to my room being rented out while my family and I are sleep in the room. Unfortunately I will not be staying at this establishment ever again.

Really liked the room configuration which we need to accommodate my husband, my granddaughter and grandson. There was a keurig coffeemaker in the room but no pods. I asked at the front desk and was given several packets of the coffee pouches used in the usual hotel coffeemakers. I questioned him but was told that was all they had. Waited until 5:55 and went downstairs to find the night clerk asleep on a couch and no breakfast even started. ( which was supposed yo be available at 6) finally got a cup of coffee.

The property smell is too strong like they are trying to hide the pet smell and roach spray. The breakfast station didn’t have cream cheese they didn’t stalk the silverware with spoons condiments the pancake machine was down. The first room they gave me had a roach. The second one had a strong pet smell and I’m asthmatic.

The room served it's purpose for a weekend stay but the breakfast food definitely needs some attention. Our TV did not work most of our stay. Overall our stay was decent here.

The bed was really uncomfortable. Felt like a cot. But other than that. The stay was decent. It served is purpose

Upon check in the front desk was friendly. I asked if they would hold our luggage until the check in time and he was able to get early check in. After this it steadily went down hill. The room on the ground floor was dirty and run down. The couch cushions were stained and souled; the bathroom had hair and dirt. I asked the front desk to chang,he told me to give him a half hour.We went to get food. They switched us to the 3rd floor which was cleaner, but missing a security latch. That evening the toilet got clogged, I called the front desk and was told to come downstairs and get the plunger. I asked if they could bring it up and was told no. Within 5 minutes I went to the front desk and he spent 15 minutes searching for a plunger. Eventually he came back with dollar store plunger in a white trash bag and handed it to me. The next morning we get up to get breakfast and there was a sign about the oven being out of service so there's no way to cook, toast or heat breakfast. The pancake maker was producing raw pancakes. They also ran out of milk for the cereal. I traveled with my family and no car, this was the problematic. I have requested someone get back to serveral times and no one has. I have video and pictures of it all. I confirmed talking to a couple that were leaving that day, the breakfast had been unavailable for atleast 3 days before our arrival. Common courtesy would be to notify us ahead of time, giving me the option to find a different hotel. Poor practices.

Horrible bed. I dont typically complain about beds cause everyone is different but this bed was horrible and I can't imagine anyone would like it.

The fire alarm went off two nights in a row in the middle of the night, waking everyone up just for them to be false alarms.

The very first thing I noticed when I walked in was a smell - I can't describe it - but it was everywhere. Luckily, by morning, the smell hadn't bothered me much. Anyway, I paid entirely too much for a room for 5 people (one night). I ultimately paid $240 for ONE night. The man at the front desk was nice but at the same time, he didn't seem to really go out of his way to make sure that we had everything we needed. We had two queen beds and a pull out couch for 2 adults and 3 teens. The pull out couch did not have any sheets, blanket or pillow. The room was probably aboug 78 degrees when we first walked in which was ok at first but hard to fall asleep at night. The walls had absolutely no decoration like pictures. Very odd that the entire room was just white. There was no complimentary shampoo or soap in the bathroom. We only had 4 towels. Their one ice machine in the entire hotel was out of order. The hallway in the hotel was very warm and didn't feel like the AC was on. We were so tired from being outside the whole day that we all slept in til 10am and missed the included breakfast the next morning. However, judging by the experience up to this point, I would not have expected much. Again, we paid $240 for 1 night in this hotel. This hotel, in my opinion, was worth maybe $75 a night if that.

The breakfast was terrible. The first morning there weren't enough plates and utensils. There was NO fruit at all and this wasn't late in the morning. No pancake mix, a few pieces of bread, no bagels and there was no restocking of the hot bar. They had fruit the next day, but it was not restocked the day after. The juice machine tasted like water. Our room was not cleaned the entire weekend. I saw people putting trash bags outside of their rooms for pick up. This was my last stay at Best Western and due to the lack of assistance/follow up from Expedia, this was my last time using Expedia.

The staff were kind and helpful. The property is not well maintained. The pool was green and closed during our stay. The ice machine was broken and all vending machines were not filled. I got water from the water filling station at breakfast and there were pieces of mold or dirt in the water. Even though breakfast was offered, we ended up going elsewhere. There was broken glass all over the parking lot. You definitely get what you pay for. We would not stay at this location again.
