Courtyard by Marriott Newport News Airport

On Friday I stopped at the front desk and asked to have my trash emptied. They assured me I was on the schedule (every other day) but the trash was not emptied when I returned on Friday evening. There was no complimentary morning coffee. I paid $6. because they serve/sell Starbucks. After I left, I received a notice that they tried to charge my card $140., my card declined the charge and I have no idea why they were charging me. I was a single 55 year old non-smoking female, zero damage to the room.

Coffee maker in the room had the wrong inserts so couldn't make coffee. Terrible smell coming from shower floor drain. Toilet made long strange whistling noise when flushed,

They charged for parking, the room was not cleaned well including a musty odor in the room, and the hot tub in the pool area was broken.

The hotel was clean and the staff we encountered were helpful. Unfortunately, the hotel was very under staffed which made it hard to get things we needed. The ice machines weren’t working. And, most importantly, the air conditioning was not working. A member of our family has severe asthma so that was an issue.

The pool was closed for 7 of the 9 days I was at the hotel. They did not sweep, mop or vacuum my floors the ENTIRE stay. I asked 3x for them to come and do my floors but it was never done.

Nice accommodations

We had access to coffee the first 2 mornings in the lobby and then there was a charge the third and fourth day. We reserved the conference room and the floor was not vacuumed and tables were not cleaned The staff at the front desk were extremely helpful and welcoming. They did their best to accommodate our needs to the best of their ability. I would only recommend this hotel for the staff. The accommodations were not as advertised

The pool was open but did not look clean as it was like a layer of dust or something sitting on the water as it sat still. Water was not clear as it should be. Pool water didnt loo like it was clean

I stayed at this hotel recently and was impressed with how clean and fresh the room felt. The housekeeping team clearly takes pride in their work. The staff was great as well, friendly, helpful, and quick to respond whenever I needed anything. My only real complaint is the hot tub was not working, which was disappointing, and the pool was very dirty, enough that I chose not to use it. If the hotel can improve the maintenance of the pool area, this would easily be a top-tier stay.

One of the best rooms I've stayed in (I probably stay in hotels 10-12 times a year). Clean, spacious, and very well laid out.

This property was great! Clean, spacious and updated. Staff was courteous and kind, helping with everything that I needed. My only issues was that the hot tub wasn't working and the wifi was trash. Me and my bf were trying to watch HBO and it would take 40 minutes to watch an one episode of euphoria because the wifi was buffering. Same struggle for youtube and Netflix so just beware of that. Everything else was great.
