Microtel Inn by Wyndham Newport News Airport

Not a good place to stay. It was affordable close to Hampton Coliseum for the concert but not clean. It was only okay for one night.

The front desk lady was nice, only problem was the elevator was not working and the lights in the room some was not working working either.

This place was foul. The entire property smelled like weed. The bed was caved in like a 500 lb man had slept in it for a month straight. The shower had old bars of soap. They “ran out” of pillows. Dirty underwear and condom wrappers in the hallway. If we hadn’t gotten there as late as we did, I would not have stayed.

The elevator was broke our whole stay and only room available was 2nd floor. One of the mattresses was like sitting in a hole. Very uncomfortable. The breakfast was poor. Only thing was choice of 2 cereals, waffle and tiny muffins. Even the hallway was hot at first day.

The room was durty, we got a room in the 3rd floor and the elevator was not working. The carpet in the hallway was so durty and smells really bad. The mini fridge was not clean neither the microwave. Everything was really bad at this hotel. I really don't understand how people gave good reviews, this is not fair because people like me trust in the reviews and they are completely wrong.

The elevator was broken and we were in the 3rd floor. Nothing was said to us prior to checkin and that should’ve been sent out in a message, call or something. It’s 99 degrees and we had to walk up and down flights and to take our belongings in. The refrigerator in room 318 was filthy and we couldn’t use that. The fitness room had a bike and treadmill, the treadmill did not work even after unplugging and waiting.

We checked in at 8:30pm with reservations. Only 1 room left on the 3rd floor and the elevator was broken. Got to the room - tv did not work and the room was dirty and beat up. Donna - on night duty, did everything possible to fix it. She was able to free up another room for us. That room was better, but still very dusty. Lights above the bed were filled with dust.

I asked that I not be disturbed on Thursday ( I was staying from Wednesday-Sunday) only bc I was working they took that as no house keeping services the entire time, but this could be chalked up to miscommunication. The room while being a dated property was not clean, there were what appeared to be make up stains on the pillow cases, the floor looked like it hadn’t been sept or mopped, there was a smear on the wall that appeared from A bug being killed, the tiny fridge was disgusting and I would never place anything in there. The seals were covered in dirt and mildew. There was only one outlet for charging devices and it was an extremely lose outlet. The bathroom was clean, and most of the towels. I had luckily brought my own cleaning supplies and was able to wipe surfaces I would use. The ac was on but did not cool the room, there was still a huge humidity problem In the room. Turning down the temperature did not help. Since I was only in the room to sleep really it was manageable, but I would not rebook at this location with out severe upgrades and cleanliness improvements

Everything was very good but it would be nice to have a couple of chairs to sit in.

I booked this place off the reviews and it was so bad !!! Run down big time except for the bathroom which was dirty in the corners bad ! Dead cockroach by the fridge and the bed was so bad .. elevator was BROKEN and we were on the 2nd floor ! The halls and stairway was so hot and smelly the coffee was so bad … I’m so disappointed it’s not like it was super cheap either !!!

The Microtel needs a lot of work, very run down. I would not stay here again. I felt it was dirty.

This may have been one of the worse hotel experiences I have had in a while. To start, the elevator did not work. I took that as not a big deal because we were on the 2nd floor. Next, the stairwell was sweltering hot between floors with no circulation. Next, the sink was so small that you could barely fit toiletries on it, and the knob to the sink kept breaking off. Most dangerously, the glass door for the shower came completely off the rollers. Luckily it fell into the shower and no one was hurt. The final straw happened when I asked for more towels and wash clothes, only to be informed that they were out and did not have any more clean ones. For the price, what could I expect, but this os RIDICULOUS!

I couldn’t stay there the elevator was broken. The room was on the second floor. I physically couldn’t do the stairs. I couldn’t get my money back.

Super nice clean beautiful shower bathroom if I could have kept staying I would have a little bit more expensive but still decent

I will never return to this hotel, no elevator and the stairwell smelled like urine, the bathroom smelled like urine, there was no soap, I asked for clean towels and was refused. The hotel has an odor, the refrigerator also had an odor. I will not return, ever.

Working elevator would be nice for those that need it.
