Best Western Plus Chesapeake Bay-Norfolk

Experience was wonderful. Relaxing,clean, and staff very nice.

The hotel needs to be closed and the cleaning service in the room is bad we stay one week and no bony come to clean

The position next to the beach is excellent. I found the rules irritating especially having to leave the breakfast room promptly at 10 and having to get a box of equipment from the front desk to use the equipment in the room. Not up to my usual experience with Best Western

I did not like that I requested accommodations weeks before arrival and they were not granted. I asked for an earlier check in in order to get an autistic child settled and a pet free room. They pacified me by saying that they will text if the room is free. I never received the text. We arrived in town at 8 AM.My mom tried to get in earlier too to get the child settled. They told her that it would be a fee. If there was a charge, you had rooms available. I also didn't get into my room until after 6pm. Why? The room wasn't ready. The wifi was not stable as well. Kaitlin was great about it and stated that she would contact Expedia for a partial refund. I haven't heard back from either party.

The breakfast was ok. Not too many selections it was just eggs and sausage one day it was ham. The waffles were really good. I really liked that the beach was steps away from the hotel. It was a quiet beach which we really liked that. I like that the room had a mini size kitchen, nice size refrigerator, a good microwave. The wifi was terrible. We had to use our service because every time we would connect to the wifi it was very slow. When we wanted to cast something on the tv it would not work, it would for a couple of minutes and then it would disconnect. The pool could had been a bit more cleaner. They didn’t service our room. Maybe theres a policy that only after a certain amount of day they can service the room. We stayed for four day and they only took the garbage out once (i think).

The friendly staff. The location is great The beds are not the most comfortable. The pillows were the smallest I've ever seen. The Towel and wash cloth station was awkwardly right above the toilet. Me and my wife both hit our heads on the cabinet as a result of this. The breakfast was not the greatest but it's free so you get what you pay for. The staff working the breakfast area were complaining about guests.

The biggest problem was the toilet. It constantly ran and had flushing issues. I reported it to the front desk, but I was told there was no plumber available and that I would just have to deal with it. The staff suggested I turn the water pipe off after each use. I explained that I wasn’t comfortable handling plumbing or turning pipes and asked if we could be moved to another room, but I was told the hotel was at full capacity. Because I was worried the toilet might overflow, especially with my kids using it, I asked if we could use the staff restroom at the front desk if needed. The staff did allow us to use that restroom, and I appreciated that accommodation. However, having to leave our room to use a bathroom because the one in our suite wasn’t functioning properly is not something guests should have to do.

I had #215 , on the second floor . It was New renovated room (without carpet that gives bad smell.)please do all rooms without carpet floor Beautiful ocean view , and room service . New sofa with good mattress and waterproof cover; new chairs, table, bedside tables. Broken stones on the steps to the way out to the ocean ( 1 stairway was closed making traffic) Electric stove that only works with special pots and pans. Despite it was provided- I would rather have normal electric stove to be installed so I be able to use the stove with any pots and pans Needs a newer AC unit in all rooms

• A very nice hotel with great, direct beach access along with a very nice morning breakfast. • The staff in the kitchen and the front desk were very attentive and customer focused. • Hotel grounds were pretty well maintained. • In the pool area, there are chairs for lounging, three (3) barbecue grills, picnic tables, and corn hole. • There is no "common / public" restroom on the property. If a bathroom break is needed, one must return to the room. • While the room had a kitchenette, all items for use with the kitchenette must be checked out at the front desk area.

Charged me to stay when I was not welcomed

Our room had the bare minimum. Didn’t even have a coffee pot. And when we first arrived had a horrible smell to it. Had to go to Walmart to purchase air fresheners. We stayed upstairs but from 6am until round 11am all we heard was doors opening and slamming shut. I’m assuming from the breakfast bar. When my son went to the breakfast bar he said the employee was extremely rude to him. Which is very disheartening considering both my kids are very polite and respectful young men. The day after we arrived I had asked the housekeeper for some extra towels and she was extremely hateful towards me. Other than that all the other staff was amazing. And location was perfect. I didn’t like the fact that our room faced the parking lot as did all the rooms if you wasn’t in the extended stay suites.

Outdoor pool was closed. Management offered a discount but because I booked through a third party (Expedia) they couldn’t change the pay. Contacted Expedia and they gave me the run around with credit for a future trip. I’ll think twice before booking third party since Expedia was no help. Front office never marked my papers and I got the run around from Expedia and this hotel. Should not have had to go through the hassle just to be given a credit that the hotel offered for their pool not working. Highly dissatisfied.
