Driftaway Hotel and Pool

Very good

The outdoor space is a highlight of the property with the pool, hot tub, and games for kids. This was definitely the best part of the hotel. The website says they are pet friendly, nowhere in the terms on the website does it say your pet cannot be left unattended in the room. It's only when you get to check in where they make you sign a paper (under pressure) that informs you of this. This felt like a bait and switch attempt, and I didn't like it. I find it incredibly hard to believe people book a vacation and hotel stay with a pet so they can just stay in the room all the time. There was also a very small patch of not so grassy lawn on the backside of the hotel where we were told to walk our dogs, and poop bags and trash were located there. That's great, but there was trash and liter scattered all about. I even found glass. Why was this area so neglected? I didn't want my dog walking there. I was told the hotel had been newly renovated, it was fun and colorful. The finish work left something to be desired. I also was unimpressed with the cleaning job...crumbs and debris around the perimeter of the bed and between the vinyl flooring and threshold to the bathroom. Toothpaste stuck between the penny round tiles in the bathroom. Scuff marks on the vinyl floor. If someone had taken more than just a swipe of a swiffer across the floor this stuff probably could have been cleaned up properly.

The pool, cabanas, hot tub, lawn games, picnic area and fire pit area are awesome! Love that there was coffee available and a water bottle filling station. I would recommend putting some more hooks in the room, adding central air and even though the water pressure in the shower was good, it could be a bit stronger. We will definitely check it out next year, as the location is amazing-within walking distance of some of our favorite restaurants (Napoli’s and the Beachfire) and it has a convenient trolly stop! Thank you for a nice stay!

Easy walk to town, also near to other restaurants along the way. The pool and hot tub are spectacular with cabanas, eating tables, games lots to keep you entertained and off your screens. Breakfast is not included, but there’s so many good options close by.

We enjoyed our stay. The pool was wonderful. Our room was very clean. It could use a microwave. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Would go again next year.

Kids loved the giant pool and yard games. Walk to footbridge beach is not bad at all however walk to town is a bit far for little ones. Overall would definitely recommend for families.

Pool area

Really loved the huge pool and many umbrellas and lounge chairs. The room that was available was pet friendly so it was smaller than the two queens room and bathroom was smaller also. It should be noted that if you choose pet friendly the room and bathroom is not as large.

The pool area was great!! I would have preferred a room with some type of balcony. Overall it was a good stay!! Staff was super attentive!

This hotel was a major disappointment! We check in around 5pm and the room still has full trash cans and tampons in it from the previous guests 😬 The conditioner and shampoo were empty or not filled… We brought the issues up at the time we found them and at checkout… I am still waiting on a call from the manager… We checked out Saturday morning 8/8/26…

This hotel has recently undergone some renovations and we applaud the owner's effort. That being said, there were certain things that still were not what you would expect in a recently renovated hotel- lightswitches didn't work, chargers on the bed for phones and tablets didn't work, missing remote controls, patches of fixed ceiling and walls discolored, no sheets or blankets left for the pull out bed, air conditioners in the bedroom are half covered by furniture (dressers) so the room doesn't ever totally get cool as it should... that all being said, for a quick getaway, this hotel is fine. Great pool (especially for the kids but be aware- there is now blasting music from 9 AM-9 PM during the pool hours) as well as fire pits and lawn games. We have stayed here numerous times over the years before the renovations and, was it a little dingy? Yeah... but honestly, some of the renovation choices were kind of weird and we preferred it previously. For less than the price of this hotel, you can stay at a cottage at a nearby property for an entire week with access to a family pool (and an adult pool), with a full kitchen and nicer and quieter atmosphere. But if you're just looking for a quick, local getaway that's right on the trolley line and within walking distance of a lot of attractions? Stay here.

Super clean, complimentary bottled water in room, AC worked great, such cute retro theme, large pool, hot tub, games, all enclosed and safe. great for families. Cannot think of anything major, really.
