The 1857

This old property was updated very well. Modern look in a classic building. Located near activities around broadway (shops/restaurants). Staff was helpful and friendly.

I absolutely love this place! Unfortunately, the last two stays excluded the use of the bar due to private functions. Fortunately, there the location is right downtown and many other options are available. Unless it's a Sunday. All bars within walking distance are closed on Sunday except one (Over/Under) .

The room had a Keurig coffee maker, and in the morning there is sub-par drip coffee that is available from about 6:30 am. We definitely want to come back to Paducah and look forward to staying in The 1857 Hotel again!

Amazing stay! We love this hotel.

Great location in the historic arts district close to great restaurants, stores, waterfront, and the national quilt museum. Parking was on the street. Room in the annex was clean but smelled very musty. Also, what seemed like a rooftop compressor was extremely loud when it ran above the room. Other than that, the historic renovation of this building was very impressive and the materials were top grade.

We love this place. We have stayed twice in two different rooms. Always great!

G damp towels. Everyone was super friendly. Great location for walking. Didn't use my car at all. Ill be back!

Lovely hotel and friendly staff. Unfortunately on a Sunday the bar was not open and there is no elevator in the hotel.

Location is perfect for the Carson Center in Paducah, KY. The center is just across the parking lot from the back door of the 1857 Hotel. In fact, both facilities share the parking lot. The location in "old downtown" gives character to the stay with shops and restaurants literally across the street. The hotel itself is remodeled updated yet, keeping the historical building inside with a clean, industrial motif. Local artists have their works displayed at 2 month intervals following various themes. The art is for sale. The rooms are well appointed with large coffee bar and mini-fridge. The showers and tubs have to be seen! Some rooms have the full shower and tub completely open to the bedroom area. So you might want to consider who you are traveling with to share a room. If modestly doesn't matter...one of you can be taking a large soaking bath while the other dances around under the full rain shower next you. The small "event center" of the 1857 Hotel is indeed a low-key bar with intimate sitting areas for drinks and conversation. There is a stage which could host music or other artist...there it was empty when I was there. I would stay here again. If you have mobility issues...navigating this older setting could be challenging. For example, of the 2 King Suites, one was upstairs. Front stairs in the lobby were very narrow and STEEP! I used the back stairs (located in the bar/event center) which had 3 sets of landings as I maneuvered the stairs. Using a cane and pulling my carryon luggage...a patron at the bar approached me and offered to assist, which I accepted. I highly recommend that if you have physical/health issues that make stairs difficult, you make the request for a lower level room and get it confirmed. But even the lower rooms have a step down to access the area but it's much better than attempting all the stairs. I'm not sure if they have rooms that are wheelchair/scooter accessible.

Overall cute hotel but desperately need new beds!! Mattress not very comfortable. It was a Sunday so the restaurant/ bar was closed which was unfortunate.

Beautiful property. Super clean. Single K-cup coffee maker only ever makes so-so coffee but everything else was incredible. Highly recommended.

Great location in Paducah to walk around the downtown area. Friendly staff and really neat hotel. Will definitely stay here again.

This is our second stay at The 1857, and we’re already discussing when we can visit again. The rooms are spacious & clean. Comfortable beds, great ambiance & friendly staff.

Paducah KY is worth the stop and this hotel is perfectly located in the heart of downtown. Walking distance to the murals, the river, the performing arts center and a number of shops and restaurants. The hotel itself is a well maintained, historic property that has been fully renovated. Very comfortable and no complaints.

It was lovely.

The property was beautiful and in walking distance of a lot of food and entertainment. The room was spacious. The staff was very helpful and friendly. They gave great recommendations for dinner and drinks! There was a wedding/reception during our time there, but they were wrapped up by 11 pm. Just ask staff if there is an event during your stay. If you are sensitive to sounds/music, keep in mind the main building has the venue. Possibly ask to stay in one of the annex locations across the street. I enjoyed my stay and will return!

The room was very nice and the staff was super helpful and nice. Great location and everything within walking distance downtown.

The only negative is the lack of a wall separating the tub & shower from the main room.

Beautifully finished interiors; loved the rain shower, size and comfort of bed. Room was large and could have used better lighting; need towel racks in bath area
