The Zen Hotel Palo Alto

Very sweet staff. The room was clean and very well maintained! The breakfast buffet was also very very nice and generous with its options. Parking may be tight but it is free and we had no issues with parking a midsize SUV! Awesome location, close to Stanford and food places near by. Walgreens is across the street, easy in case you need something you forgot! Best of all, quiet despite the Main Street right there

It looks like it's an old motel that was renovated. Loved the look and the size of the room was amazing! It was a little loud being backed up to a busy city street, but overall, you have to understand that there is only so much that can be done to doc something like this without significant expenditure. The room was clean, spacious, and most importantly, the bed was extremely comfortable. I will happily return... hopefully for longer than just a few hours next time.

This was a really cute hotel. The staff was very friendly and the rooms were very clean. I liked the microwave and fridge in the rooms. I didn’t know what to expect but I was happy with my stay. I forgot my toothbrush but they had one at the front desk so that was a relief! The breakfast was good. My daughter (teenager) loved it. It was close to Stanford which was why we were there. I love all of the restaurants and coffee places around it too. We will stay here again when we return.

The room was fine but we did get attacked by one earwig. The bed was a little soft. The power went out (not the hotel's fault, bit they did not have hot water that night after power was back on. The TV went on but streaming service wasn't turned back on. We had stayed here before and loved it, even the free breakfast was good. They did offer $20 rebate for a $145 room because of the inconvenience. Not sure that we will return ... maybe?

My main complaint was the softness of the mattress which prevented a good night’s sleep, since I have a bad back. For that reason, I will not be staying there again.

This charming hotel had wonderful staff, full amenities, and a great vibe. We travel to the area periodically and will be staying here for all of our next visits!

Room was clean, quiet and comfortable. Would definitely stay here again. Nice surprise was having a door out to a balcony to let in a cross breeze of fresh air.

Staff very accommodating and insured my check in after 6pm was secured, Very informative with Dinning out options in the area recommended multiple choices, Breakfast was perfect and in my opinion reason I chose Zen over the other Inns and Hotels in area that in my experience keeps me coming back. Not a big thing but the Parking area where the small palms are and pavers to cross over to room. The small palms are placed right in center, so if you back to unload you are dealing with a drop down to rock bed and palms poking you. Again it’s not a big problem but is only thing I would say “didn’t like”
