Chateau Beachfront Hotel, A By The Sea Resort

Location was perfect next to the beach. Parking was included and more than enough spots. Beach view was nice. Kitchen had cups, plates, a pan, a pot, spatula, and utensils. We booked a standard studio room which had multiple pictures of a kitchen. However when we arrived we were placed in a room with no kitchen. When we walked into the room and realized this we went to the reception and told the receptionist to which she said that our reservation came in as a normal room without a kitchen (we later figured out we did book this room but we rightfully believed that we would be getting a kitchen as that is what was in the room description when we booked). The receptionist apologized for this and said the reservation came in with no kitchen. She then called her manager and said they could not upgrade us to a better room as they were overbooked or give us a discount. We did not argue with this and instead contacted booking.com as we were not given the room we were promised when we booked. It was only then (when they realized they were going to lose our business) that the reception called us and upgraded our room to the room with a kitchen and a better view which was previously said to be overbooked. The receptionist, Krystal, was phenomenal and very nice through all of this and she gave us free drink vouchers for the trouble, however, I believe the management of the hotel should’ve handled the situation better and not only act when they would lose our business as this also made more work for the housekeepers who had to clean more and made for a more stressful situation for the receptionist. Other than that, the bathrooms did not feel clean and in our first room there were toenail clippings on both the bed and in the bathtub. The air conditioning unit was also very loud at night it that we had to turn it off in order to sleep. Also as others have mentioned there is no way to shower off your feet after the beach, therefore sand made it into the room.

Totally needed getaway! Awesome place to stay! Staff were awesome!! Alison totally a kind soul. Love the location! Close to all of my favorite places. Beautiful view! So thankful for this trip!

Cool design fuzzy black substance i believe to be mold on the sheet covering the box spring, horrible chemical smell in the front office that also was in the room making it unbearable, dead roach in the bathtub, hard as a rock bed

Love this property! Friendly, helpful staff, clean rooms, and it is right on the beach. Our room was less than 100 steps from the water. This was our 4th stay, and it is the perfect place for us.

Excellent location! Excellent tiki bar at the pool! Excellent view! And the price was amazingly affordable! It allowed us to spend more at restaurants and attractions. I will definitely book there every time I go to PCB!

Honestly I cannot say enough good things about this place it definitely brightened up our world we came to Panama City me and my daughter for her 21st birthday the hotel that we booked which was the microtel it was just horrible we left and we booked with the chateau and all I can say is from here on out when we come to Panama City Beach this is where we can find us. The rooms were clean the amenities were great the bar was outstanding The view was amazing the staff was top notch they were the highlight of the entire trip. Like literally I cannot say enough good things about our state we will be back. To all the ladies in the office thank you so much from me and my daughter and you know who you are we will be back

Convenient close to the beach. The bathroom could use updating. But the price wasn’t bad at all.

Do not book!! We booked what we thought was the first floor for easy beach access and it was actually down two flights of stairs with no elevator…Also we didn’t receive the room we booked they gave us a downgrade…when we went back to asked they told us they would t have the room we booked available until the next day and didn’t offer to compensate us on the downgrade for the night…whatever no biggie right well we finally get into the correct room we booked and it smelled soooo bad like mildew and sewage!! Then when I pulled the sheets back on the bed in the room they supposedly “just clean” it was full of little bugs!!! We immediately went to the front desk and they told us the manager “might” refund us…..We got another room somewhere else and the manger wouldn’t give an adequate refund which is so crazy to me considering we have pictures of the bed with bugs in it and we weren’t given the correct room on the first night. They only refunded us 2 nights…very disgusting and disappointed with this hotel!!

Very outdated , but decent price for the stay didn’t like that I was supposed to get an Ocean view and got a pool side view .

It's an older property but that's why it's so great because almost every room faces the Gulf of Mexico and that most of them face the pool unless you don't want to. Now the rooms were clean but old we had a full kitchen which was a very decent refrigerator stove and countertop and sink and microwave oven and two queen size beds and a balcony overlooking the gulf what more can two people want. Everybody was so nice they were ready to help and if they could they would do whatever they could to help us

Location to beach and pier shopping was gtreat Knowing resort is old, it has been remodeled but our unit did not have grab bar in tub area. Kitchen area needs some attention to broken doors on cabinets. Coffee maker was a total bust! Hot water did not disperse thru unit without spraying and running over sides of dispenser. More water on cabinet than in the cup!
